Assalamualaikum and Peace be upon all of you.
Welcome to my blog.

Good Morning to all followers, visitors and my fellow blogwalkers. Today is just another shiny day. Nothing important to do, just spending my time surfing the internet and have a chat with some of my colleges. Recently, Prime Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Najib Razak has announced or rather noted the development of 100-storeys Menara Warisan Merdeka located at Kuala Lumpur, not too far from Stadium Merdeka. The cost is RM5 bil and it will takes about around 5 to 10 years to complete. So, if the project succeeds, Menara Warisan probably the first place for our any Prime Minister to announce the proclamation of “Malaysia Maju 2020”.

The possible design for the Mega Tower

And, just like its predecessor, the Petronas Twin Tower, it is widely opposed by the opposition. Well, lets us stay the politicians out of this discussion; let’s see what the people have to said. For the younger generation of Malaysia, the easiest method to do this is by Facebook. What they have to say?

Among the highly noted phrases is a cynical or sarcastic noted from Ng Yen Yen who stated, “Everybody wants the tallest tower, so, why should we hold back?” The groups aim to shows the government that Malaysia did not need a new skyscraper and the money should be allocate to improves education, health care, public transportation, safer neighborhood and cleaner water.

For me, I personally stated that we do not need a new skyscraper. Why? Building a skyscraper is an expensive project. Did we did not learn anything from the Dubai crisis? Their development of Mega or should I say, Giga/Tera Project actually put them into debt burden. And, what did actually befall to Burj Khalifa this day? Out of 900 apartments, 825 are still empty. The cost to maintain the building is around A$8 mil (Australian Dolar).

So, here I only have one thing to ask..

“We have Petronas Twin Tower and it’s has done its job promoting a national identity of Malaysia. So, why should we build another?”
