Assalamualaikum and Peace be upon all of you.
Welcome to my blog.

Good Morning to all followers, visitors and my fellow blogwalkers. Today is just another shiny day. Nothing important to do, just spending my time surfing the internet and have a chat with some of my colleges. Recently, Prime Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Najib Razak has announced or rather noted the development of 100-storeys Menara Warisan Merdeka located at Kuala Lumpur, not too far from Stadium Merdeka. The cost is RM5 bil and it will takes about around 5 to 10 years to complete. So, if the project succeeds, Menara Warisan probably the first place for our any Prime Minister to announce the proclamation of “Malaysia Maju 2020”.

The possible design for the Mega Tower

And, just like its predecessor, the Petronas Twin Tower, it is widely opposed by the opposition. Well, lets us stay the politicians out of this discussion; let’s see what the people have to said. For the younger generation of Malaysia, the easiest method to do this is by Facebook. What they have to say?

The Pro ; (Kami Sokong Menara Warisan)

Photobucket

The Pro group called themselves as “We support the Warisan Tower”. Among the highly noted phrases was taken from Prime Minister Najib, stating that the tower is not a waste but it is intended to boost the Malaysian economy, and also as a new landmark for a new develop Malaysia.

Up until this article was written, the group manages to attract 2,269 Supporters.

The contra ; (1M Malaysians Reject 100-storey Mega Tower)

Photobucket

The contra group called themselves as “1M Malaysians Reject 100-storey Mega Tower”. Among the highly noted phrases is a cynical or sarcastic noted from Ng Yen Yen who stated, “Everybody wants the tallest tower, so, why should we hold back?” The groups aim to shows the government that Malaysia did not need a new skyscraper and the money should be allocate to improves education, health care, public transportation, safer neighborhood and cleaner water.

Up until now, the group succeeds to reach its former targets of 200,000 supporters and currently have 203,353 supporters in just 8 days.

Comment

For me, I personally stated that we do not need a new skyscraper. Why? Building a skyscraper is an expensive project. Did we did not learn anything from the Dubai crisis? Their development of Mega or should I say, Giga/Tera Project actually put them into debt burden. And, what did actually befall to Burj Khalifa this day? Out of 900 apartments, 825 are still empty. The cost to maintain the building is around A$8 mil (Australian Dolar).

So, here I only have one thing to ask..

“We have Petronas Twin Tower and it’s has done its job promoting a national identity of Malaysia. So, why should we build another?”

Denonym for each state.

Assalamualaikum and Peace be upon all of you.
Welcome to my blog.

All of us actually knew the denonym for citizens of Malaysia. We were called as Malaysian, but how about for each respective state in Malaysia? I have found some of popular denonym, but, some states are still unknown. Let go check it out.

Sabah – Sabahan

Sarawak – Sarawakian

Kelantan – Kelantanese

Johor – Johorean

Malacca – Malaccan

Selangor – Selangorean

Perak – Perakian

Pulau Pinang – Penangite

Kedah – Kedahan

The acronyms above are the one that popularly used. But the one below still need some revision.

Terengganu
I seriously don't know about Terengganu’s denonym. If taking Kelantan as revision, then the most accurate is Terengganese. During my research, it led me to Terengganuan. Still need revision though.

Pahang
Just like the case of Terengganu, Pahang’s denonym is similar and has resemblance with Pulau Pinang. Probably Pahangite. My research led me to Pahangian. Which one more accurate?

Negeri Sembilan
This is the hardest of all. It can be Negrish, Negeri Sembilanian or Negeri Sembilanese.

Perlis
My research led me to Perlisian. Any ideas?

In July, Tengku Muhammad fakhry Fakhry launched the 105 million ringgit (31 million dollars) lawsuit, claiming his wife Manohara Odelia Pinot and her mother had defamed him by claiming he had sexually abused the 17-year-old.

The Prince’s lawyer, Mohamad Haaziq Pillay told the reporter,

"The prince is extremely happy and he said justice has prevailed. Money has never been the question; all he wants is to get his name cleared"

The lawyer also said divorce proceedings are still pending in a religious court. Manohara claims to have been cut with a razor and injected with drugs which made her vomit blood while being held under guard in her bedroom at the palace.

"Imagine if you were accused of injecting your wife with hormones and cutting her breasts with razors, they have made the prince look like a monster in the eyes of public"

Manohara lawyer said she had filed a police report on the abuse but Indonesian police say they are unable to investigate as the incidents took place outside their jurisdiction.

The couple gets married in 10 April 2008 at Istana Negeri Kubang Kerian, Kelantan Darul Naim.

Not so cold actually, As Malaysia is a tropical country, we only have only two seasons, Dry and Rainy season. Or in Malay we called it as “Musim Kemarau” (Dry Season) and “Musim Tengkujuh” (Rainy Season).

Today topic is about the World’s Largest Passenger Vessel in the world today, The MS Oasis of the Seas.

This is not a mere child’s play, Radin’s Blog today brings a serious newsflash when some of Indonesian activist declare war on Malaysia. The group is called as ‘Benteng Demokrasi Rakyat’ BENDERA (English = People’s Democracy Fortress) declare a war to the Federation of Malaysia, claiming Malaysia has ‘stealing’ many heritage and culture of Indonesia. For example, ‘Pendet Dance’.

Pendet Dance is a symbol of Bali . Why the heck should we Malaysian practice it?

Photobucket

DISGRACE

Even more frustration is this declaration is done after the earthquake struck at Padang, Sumatera. Rather than wasting time, energy and money announce this irresponsible declaration, they should gives their utmost priorities to their own citizens in Padang. After the Padang Quake, two more earthquakes struck at Western Papua and Northern Sulawesi.

Photobucket

This so called People’s Fortress should priorities their own people should they?

BROTHERHOOD

Photobucket

Indonesia actually a big brother to Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam as this region is united with the same cultures, heritage and most important, religion. Indonesian should play their role as a protective big brother for these two countries. Even having their best president ever, it looks like some Indonesian has some kind of inferiority complex toward Malaysia. They can accept Singapore, why not Malaysia?

During this hard time, Malaysia still committed to play a part as a good neighbor and has announced a rescue team to give help to the victims of the disaster. This region has seen many wars in the past and still developing. We never need war to begin with.

Negaraku

Assalamualaikum and Peace be upon all of you.
Welcome to my blog.

Flag of Malaysia

Coat of arm of malaysia

Radin's Blog today will cover the topic of Malaysia National Anthem, Negaraku. Firstly introduced during the Merdeka announcement in 31 August 1957, the National Anthem has been our symbol of pride for the nation. But, the sovereignty of Negaraku currently has been questioned and threatened by both inside and outside the country. Most popular is the case of Negarakuku, a version of rap song but using the Negaraku as most of its lyrics and also, the claimed by some Indonesian activist and media especially that Negaraku is actually a ‘plagiat’ from the song ‘Terang Bulan’. This issue is disturbing indeed.

But, Indonesia government has ensured that the issue is only brought up by a small minority of the republic and not a majority voice. And even Malaysia Federation also voices its citizen to keep the issue down and do not make any provocation as this issue is only a huge misunderstanding.

Radin’s Blog today will uncover the real story of Negaraku. Let’s check it out.

Negaraku, Malaysia National Anthem

PLAGIAT?

First, the case here is about the song that has the same melody, Negaraku, Terang Bulan and Mamula Moon. All of this song used the melody made by Pierre-Jean de Beranger, a French Musicians. The only different is its lyrics according to each respective composer.

So, who’s first?
Terang Bulan (1930’s), Mamula Moon (1947), Negaraku (1957)

This is the main reason why some activist claimed Negaraku is a plagiat from Terang Bulan, which is not. (source)

ORIGIN OF NEGARAKU

Before Independence, each state in peninsular already has their own anthem but no anthem for the whole Federation. Thus, a competition has been held to choose the new anthem for the new independence country. Among the competitor is the composer for the song ‘Majulah Singapura’. None of them is deemed worthy.

Then, Tunku Abd Rahman chooses the Perak State Anthem, ‘Allah Lanjutkan Usia Sultan’ because of its traditional flavor in its music. Thus, Negaraku is born!

So, the question is where is the origin of this anthem?
The answer is Seychelles Island. (source)

PERAK STATE ANTHEM

Perak State Anthem

Perak is the first state in Malaysia to have its own National Anthem. It is used during the reign of Sultan Idris (1888). He is the son-in-law to the exiled Sultan Abdullah of Perak. The song composed by Pierre de Beranger is very popular in Seychelles at that time. The song called as ‘La Rosalie’.(source) The song has the same melody as ‘Allah Lanjutkan Usia Sultan’, Terang Bulan, Mamula Moon, and Negaraku.

Here is the timeline:
La Rosalie (1800’s), Allah Lanjutkan Usia Sultan (1888), Terang Bulan (1930), Mamula Moon (1947), and Negaraku (1957). (source)

This is the very proof that Negaraku did not plagiat the song from Terang Bulan but ‘Allah Lanjutkan Usia Sultan’ instead. The song has been used for over 100 years and still in used now. (source)

CONCLUSIONS

All of the fact above is based by fact. I have concluded all my research here and whether you wanted to believe it or not, it’s up for the individual. My work for the country here is done. If you not satisfied, then feel free to search it. But heed my advice,

“Be rational, not emotional”

Rank 1 in the world

Assalamualaikum and Peace be upon all of you
Welcome to my blog.

Flag of Malaysia

Coat of arm of malaysia

Malaysia still has many to develop and achieve in every field in the world. Sometimes, even the Malaysian have an inferiority complex syndrome towards our beloved Malaysia. But, some of us Malaysian actually achieve the top of the world. Who there are? Let’s go check it out.

Nicol David

Nicol David

Nicol David probably the most well known heroin of Malaysia. She is our professional Squash Player. The Squash Queen has achieved the world no.1 women squash player (and also the first Asian to achieve the title). She captured the World Open title in 2005, 2006 and 2008, and the British Open title in 2005, 2006 and 2008.

Nicol David's other notable achievements include the Asian squash championship, which she won with a record of six times (in 1998, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006 and 2008). She also held a 13-month, 51-match winning streak, from March 2006 to April 2007 when she finally lost to Natalie Grinham in the final of the 2007 Seoul Open. In today's standard of professional squash, which is regarded by many as being much more competitive than what it was decades ago, having a winning streak comparable to this is an achievement not easily obtainable.

The former Malaysian Prime Minister Dato' Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, a fellow Penangite, quipped once that David is "now more famous than me".On July 12, 2008, Nicol is among 497 people honoured in conjunction with the 70th birthday of the Penang Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Abdul Rahman Abbas. Nicol is among 28 people who receive the Darjah Setia Pangkuan Negeri (DSPN), which carries the title "Datuk", making her the youngest person in Penang to be conferred Datukship.

The most I respect about her is her consistency. Not many athletes can actually keep their consistence like Nicol does.

Lee Chong Wei

Lee chong wei

Another person who receive the top world rank in their career is Datuk Lee Chong Wei (simplified Chinese: 李宗伟; traditional Chinese: 李宗偉; pinyin: Lǐ Zōngwěi). He is also our professional badminton player. Lee won the silver medal in the 2008 Olympic Games, thus becoming the first Malaysian to reach the final of the men's singles event and ending Malaysia's Olympic medal drought since the 1996 Games. This achievement also earned him the title Datuk, and a description by Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak as national hero.

As a singles player, Lee was again ranked first worldwide on August 21, 2008. He is the third Malaysian men's singles shuttler after Rashid Sidek and Roslin Hashim to achieve such a ranking (since official rankings were first kept in the 1980s), and is the only Malaysian shuttler to hold the ranking for more than two weeks.

In his early life, he actually favored basketball and when he is 11 years old, he started learn badminton with his father. Later, he attracted the local badminton coach before discovered by Misbun Sidek. He joins the national squad when he was 17 years old.
