HM Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin delivered the letter of appointment to Tan Sri Arifin Zakaria as the new Chief Justice of Malaysia
His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (the Supreme Ruler) of Malaysia, Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin consent to deliver the letter of appointment to Tan Sri Arifin Zakaria as the new Chief Justice of Malaysia. The appointment was made after the former Chief Justice Tun Zaki bin Tun Azmi retire from the post on 9th September 2011. Tan Sri Ariffin Zakaria later took the oath as the Chief Justice of Malaysia before the Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin. The ceremony was held in the Small Throne Chamber at National Palace, Kuala Lumpur.
In the same ceremony, HM Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin also delivered a letter of appointment to Tan Sri Md Rauf Sharif who sworn-in as the President of Appeal Court and Tan Sri Zulkefli Ahmad Makinudin as the Chief Judge of Malaya.

The Inauguration ceremony were attended by Prime Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Najib Razak; Deputy Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin; Minister at the Prime Minister Department, Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz; Attorney General, Tan Sri Abdul Ghani Patail; Chief Secretary, Tan Sri Mohd Sidek Hassan and Chief Judge of Sabah & Sarawak, Tan Sri Richard Malanjum.
