His Royal Highness the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafudin Idris Shah consent to receive two paintings works by famous local artist, Abdul Fatah bin Ngah, 57, at Istana Bukit Kayangan, Shah Alam. The two paintings is Wayang, the works of Fatah in 1996 and Merdeka, Merdeka, Merdeka which produced by Fatah in 1995. The works attract the intention of Sultan Sharafudin Idris Shah to buy it. The purchased is also to release the burden of Fatah who currently suffering from nerve disease, and to raise funds for Fatah medical cost.

Also present at the ceremony were Datuk Sohaimi Shahadan, the Patron of Cartoonist at Work (CAW). Abdul Fatah bin Ngah was born in Dungun, Terengganu were a famous cartoonist in the 70s. Born in a family interested in arts, he is an elder brother to Malaysian famous composer, Manan Ngah.

His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (the Supreme Ruler) of Malaysia, Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin consent to attend the final match of Malaysia Cup between Negeri Sembilan and Terengganu held at Shah Alam Stadium, Selangor. Prior to the match, His Majesty mingled and shaking hands with the player of both teams. Also present in the final match were His Royal Highness the Tunku Besar of Seri Menanti, Tunku Ali Redhauddin ibni Tuanku Muhriz. The attendance of both royals signifies the representation of both states in the final match.

Negeri Sembilan won the match with 2-1 scores.

HRH Sultan Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah of Kedah conferred the Honorary Doctorate to Tan Sri Dr Ahmad Mohamed Ali Al-Madani

His Royal Highness the Sultan of Kedah, Sultan Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah consent to attend and officiate the Convocation ceremony of Insaniah University College held at Langkawi Island. In the ceremony, the Sultan Abdul Halim consent to confer the Honorary Doctorate Degree (Islamic Banking) to Tan Sri Dr. Ahmad Mohamed Ali Al-Madani. Other than the special convocation ceremony, the Sultan Abdul Halim also officiate the third Langkawi Islamic Finances and Economics (LIFE) Conference, organize by the Insaniah University College, Islamic Development Bank (IDB) and Islamic Research and Training Institute. LIFE 2011 brought "Islamic Banking and Finance: Waqaf, Zakat and Sedeqah as the Empowerment and Community Strategy for Economic Transformation of the Ummah" as its theme.

In his opening speech at the three-day conference, the Sultan Abdul Halim of Kedah stressed the importance of zakat, waqaf and sedeqah as the main instrument for Muslim economy development, for ummah and for all humanity. Also present at the ceremony were Menteri Besar of Kedah, Datuk Seri Azizan bin Abdul Razak; IDB President, Tan Sri Dr. Ahmad Mohamed Ali Al-Madani and Rector of Insaniah University College, Prof Datuk Dr. Jamil Osman.

Her Royal Highness the Tuanku Raja Zarith Sofia, the consort of the Sultan of Johor consent to attend and officiate the Charity Walk organize by KFC and Pizza Hut fast-food restaurant operator, QSR Brands Bhd. The charity walk is a part of the World Hunger Relief (WHR) Campaign 2011. With the theme of Be The Movement, it was participated by almost 10,000 participants consisted of civilians and KFC and Pizza Hut workers. The ceremony was held at the vicinity of the Palace of Justice, Putrajaya.

KFC and Pizza Hut also make a contribution of RM2.1 million to be delivered to the World Food Programme patronized by the United Nation (UN).
Sultan Ibrahim

His Royal Highness the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar consent to attend the 11th Convocation Ceremony of Universiti Tun Hussein Malaysia (UTHM) held in the campus in Batu Pahat, Johor. In the three days ceremony, 2,245 graduands received their scrolls consisted of nine graduates of PhD, 164 degrees, 1,832 bachelor degrees and 240 diplomas. In the ceremony, the Sultan Ibrahim who is also the Chancellor of UTHM stressed to the graduates to to stay away from unhealthy social problems such as illegal assembly that can destabilize the country.

The office of the Yang Dipertua Negeri (Governor) of Melaka was formed after the independence of Federation of Malaya. The office was officially formed on 31st August 1957. The Governor of Melaka is address to as :-

TUN LEONG YEW KOH
(1957 - 1959)

Tun Leong Yew Koh was the first Governor of Malacca since independence. He was born in Salak Utara, Sungai Siput, Perak in 1888. He was appointed as the Yang Dipertua Negeri of Melaka on 31st August 1957 and served for a brief period until 30th August 1959. He died on 12th January 1963.

He was the first Chinese to be appointed as the Yang Dipertua Negeri in any of Malaysian States.


TUN ABDUL MALEK
(1959 - 1967)

Tun Abdul Malek bin Yusuf was the second Governor of Melaka. He was born in Kampung Chengkau, Rembau, Negeri Sembilan in 1899. He was appointed as the Yang Dipertua Negeri of Melaka on 31st August 1959. He served for three consecutive 4-year term, re-appointed to the office on 1963 and 1967. He left office on 30th August 1971. He died in Kuala Lumpur on 5th July 1977.


TUN ABDUL AZIZ
(1971 - 1975)

Tun Abdul Aziz bin Haji Abdul Majid was the third Governor of Melaka. He was born in Kajang, Selangor on 10 March 1908. He was appointed as the Yang Dipertua Negeri of Melaka on 31st August 1971. He died while still in office on 11th May 1975.


TUN SYED ZAHIRUDIN
(1975 - 1984)

Tun Syed Zahiruddin bin Syed Hassan was the fourth Governor of Melaka. He was born in Pondok Tanjong, Perak on 11th October 1918. He was appointed as the Yang Dipertua Negeri on 18th May 1975. He left office on 3rd Disember 1984.


TUN SYED AHMAD
(1984 - 2004)

Tun Syed Ahmad bin Syed Mahmud Shahabudin was the fifth Governor of Melaka. He was born in Kulim, Kedah on 4th May 1925. He was appointed as the Yang Dipertua Negeri of Melaka on 4th Disember 1984. He served for 20 years before leaving office on 31st May 2004.


TUN MOHAMMAD KHALIL
(2004 - present)

Tun Mohammad Khalil bin Yaacob is the sixth Governor of Melaka. He was born in Kuantan, Pahang on 29 December 1937. He was appointed as the Yang Dipertua Negeri of Melaka on 4th June 2004. He is still in office.

Mohammad Raznam, 46, the first son of His Excellency the Yang Dipertua Negeri of Melaka, Tun Mohd Khalil died from kidney failure at the intensive care unit of Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital, Kuantan at 10.40 am. The Yang Dipertua Negeri was at the hospital with his family members.

The body of Mohammad Raznam were brought to his residence at Taman Shahbandar for funeral preparations and prayers before burial at the Royal Mausoleum at 4 pm. The late Mohammad Raznam leaves a wife, Tengku Noor Marina binti Tengku Adanan, 36 and a 9-year-old son.

The ceremony was held in conjunction of the 81st Birthday Celebration of Sultan Ahmad Shah this year. Also attended the ceremony were Her Royal Highness the Sultanah of Pahang, Sultanah Kalsom; His Royal Highness the Tengku Mahkota (Crown Prince) of Pahang, Tengku Abdullah ibni Sultan Ahmad Shah and Her Royal Highness the Tengku Puan (Crown Princess) of Pahang, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah.

In the session, 66 recipients received the awards where 15 of them received the Sri Sultan Ahmad Shah Pahang (SSAP) which carries the title of "Datuk Seri". The first in the list were Minister of Housing and Local Government, Datuk Seri Chor Chee Heung. Other recipients include :-

  2. Prof. Dr. Datuk Zaleha Kamaruddin
  3. Datuk Seri Subahan Kamal.
Among who pull the attention in the ceremony were the Ambassador of United States to Malaysia, Datuk W. Jones who wears the full malay customary attire complete with Samping, Keris and Tengkolok.

Sultan of Pahang

Today is the 81st Birthday Celebration of His Royal Highness the Sultan of Pahang, Sultan Ahmad Shah al-Mustain Billah ibni Almarhum Sultan Abu Bakar Riayatuddin Al-Muazzam Shah. In conjunction of the birthday celebration, 1014 recipients were enlist to receive state medal and award of Pahang Darul Makmur.

Among the recipients who received State medals for this year :-
  1. HRH the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar. His Royal Highness shall receives the Darjah Kerabat Sri Indera Mahkota Pahang Yang Amat Dihormati (DK).
Congratulations to the Sultan of Pahang in conjunction of His Royal highness 81st Birthday Celebration. Wishing His Royal Highness may reign in peace and harmony, with fair and justice.

His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (the Supreme Ruler) of Malaysia, Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin consent to attend the 75th Convocation Ceremony of Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) held at Shah Alam, Selangor. The Supreme Ruler, who is also the Chancellor of UiTM were accompanied by Her Majesty the Raja Permaisuri Agong (the Supreme Queen) of Malaysia, Tuanku Nur Zahirah.

The convocation ceremony will take place in 16 sessions at the main campus in Shah Alam, four sessions each at the Perlis and Terengganu branch campuses, three sessions in Sarawak and two in Perak, involving 22,774 graduands. In the ceremony, Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin also congratulated Prof Dr Atta-ur-Rahman, a Muslim scientist from Pakistan who was conferred an honorary doctorate in science.

His Royal Highness the Tengku Mahkota (Crown Prince) of Pahang, Tengku Abdullah ibni Sultan Ahmad Shah consent to make a visit to Kompleks Asnaf Majlis Agama Islam Pahang (MUIP), Pahang Islamic Religious Council. The Crown Prince were accompanied by his consort, Her Royal Highness the Tengku Puan (Crown Princess) of Pahang, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah. Their Royal Highnesses consent to deliver a contribution to the Asnaf people.

The development of Kompleks Asnaf cost about RM 3.5 million primarily to become a center of the Asnaf factions, a group of people who doesn't have a place to live, unfortunate, converter or disaster evacuee.

HM Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin signed the plate in the opening ceremony of Menara Bank Islam located at Jalan Perak, Kuala Lumpur

His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (the Supreme Ruler) of Malaysia, Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin consent to officiate the opening ceremony of Menara Bank Islam. The 34-storey tower is located on endowment land belonging to the Majlis Agama Islam Wilayah Persekutuan (MAIWP), Federal Territory Islamic Religious Council costing about RM151 million to build. It was built and is being managed by Tabung Haji Properties, a subsidiary company of Lembaga Tabung Haji (Tabung Haji).

Also present at the opening ceremony were Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom and Deputy Minister, Datuk Dr Mashitah Ibrahim, Chairman of Tabung Haji, Tan Sri Abi Musa Asa'ari Mohamed Nor and Chairman of Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad, Datuk Zamani Abdul Ghani.

His Royal Highness the Al-Sultan of Kelantan, Sultan Muhammad V received the Darjah Kerabat (DK) of Perlis in conjunction with the 68th birthday of the Raja of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail. The ceremony was held at Istana Kubang Kerian, Kelantan. The award ceremony was carried out by His Royal Highness the Raja Muda (Crown Prince) of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail who represented the Raja of Perlis.

HM Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin conferred the Panglima Setia Mahkota which carries the title of Tan Sri to Tan Sri Amar Leonard Linggi.

His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (the Supreme Ruler) of Malaysia, Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin consent to confer the Honorary Medal and Awards to 241 recipients in conjunction of his birthday celebration in June. The ceremony was held at the Throne Chamber of Istana Negara. The first in the list were the Chairman of Tun Jugah Foundation, Tan Sri Amar Leonard Linggi who received the Panglima Setia Mahkota (PSM) which carried the title of "Tan Sri". Also received the Panglima Setia Mahkota (PSM) were the Mahaguru of Silat Lincah Malaysia Association, Tan Sri Omar Din Mawaidin.

HRH Sultan Muhammad V delivered a laptop to one of the student of Masterskill college witnessed by Edmund Santhara

His Royal Highness the Sultan of Kelantan, Sultan Muhammad V consent to officiate the inauguration ceremony of Masterskill Campus Metro located at Lembah Sireh, Kota Bharu. In the ceremony, the Sultan Muhammad V delivered 180 laptops to the college students. Also attended the ceremony were the Chairman of Masterskill Education Group Berhad (MEGB) Board of Directors, Datuk Seri Tunku Kamel bin Tunku Rijaludin and the Chancellor of Masterskill University College of Health, Datuk Seri Raja Azureen binti Sultan Azlan Shah.

The cost of Masterskill Campus Metro Kota Bharu is about RM50 million and can accommodate an estimate number of 5,000 students. The college provides conducive education facilities and a library equipped with electronic latest publishing materials related to medical, nursing and health sciences.

His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (the Supreme Ruler) of Malaysia, Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin departed back to Malaysia after make an official two days visit to the Republic of Indonesia. The departure of Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin and delegates who is also consist of Her Majesty the Raja Permaisuri Agong (the Supreme Queen), Tuanku Nur Zahirah were accompanied by Indonesia's Foreign Minister, Dr. R.M Marty Natalegawa as the Minister-in-attendance. The visit of Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin is seen as an improvement to bilateral relationship between the two countries.

His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (the Supreme Ruler) of Malaysia, Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin consent to make a state visit to Indonesia. This is the second state visit of Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin during his reign as the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and the first was in February 2007. HM Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin were accompanied by Her Majesty the Raja Permaisuri Agong of Malaysia, Tuanku Nur Zahirah and their princesses, Tengku Nadhirah Zahrah and Tengku Fatimatuz Zahra. Also in the delegation were Defence Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, as the minister-in-attendance from Malaysia, and senior Malaysian government officials.

HM Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin arrival at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport were welcomed by Indonesian Foreign Minister Dr Marty Natalegawa and Indonesian National Education Minister Prof Mohammad Nuh, who is the minister-in-attendance of the Indonesian government. Also at the airport to greet them were Malaysian Ambassador to Indonesia Datuk Syed Munshe Afdzaruddin Syed Hassan and senior officials of the Malaysian embassy in Jakarta.

HM Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin meet an audience with the President of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and been given an official welcome at Istana Merdeka. A 19-gun salute was fired after Tuanku Mizan took the salute from the guard-of-honour comprising 60 members of the Presidential Security Force. Tuanku Mizan then inspected the guard-of-honour led by First Lieutenant Yudha Pratama.

After being introduced to the line-up of Indonesia's cabinet ministers and senior government officials, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and Raja Permaisuri Agong made a courtesy call on President Yudhoyono and his wife Ani at Jepara Room, Istana Merdeka.

In the ceremony held at Istana Merdeka, HM Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin received Indonesia's Highest Award of Bintang Republik Indonesia Adipurna in recognition of his role and contribution in strengthening relations and cooperation between Malaysia and Indonesia. The presentation of the Bintang Republik Indonesia Adipurna by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.

This was the first time the award was conferred on Malaysia's Yang di-Pertuan Agong. Former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad had been bestowed the same award before. Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin is on a two-day official state visit to the Republic of Indonesia.

His Royal Highness the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah consent to attend the 35th UPM Convocation Ceremony. This year, 813 graduates receiving their certificates in PhD, Master degree and Bachelor Degree. Also present at the ceremony were the Vice-Chancellor of UPM, Datuk Ir. Dr. Radin Umar bin Radin Sohadi and the university three Pro-Chancellors, Tan Sri Dr. Nayan Ariffin, Tan Sri Lim Ah Lek and Tan Sri Rozali Ismail.

In the ceremony, the Sultan also consent to deliver the Chancellor Gold Medal Award to Ng Kit Lin and Royal Education Award (Bumiputera) to Elmy Talip and Royal Education Award (non-bumiputera) to Ong Ban Shui.

The Sultan also consent to deliver the following awards :-

Seperti kebiasaan semenjak tahun 2009, penulis akan menukil satu artikel di blog ini dalam Bahasa Melayu sempena Sambutan Bulan Bahasa. Jika bulan Ogos sinonim dengan kemerdekaan dan bulan September sinonim dengan sambutan penubuhan Malaysia, bulan Oktober diingati sebagai sambutan bulan bahasa. Kemaafan dipohon kerana artikel ini ditulis lambat daripada biasa. Kesibukan dengan kehidupan bekerjaya dan juga keaktifan portal diraja sehari-hari sedikit sebanyak membuatkan saya terfikir untuk mengubah artikel ini ke halaman lain. Tetapi, seperti tahun-tahun sudah, penuslis memutuskan untuk terus menulis di sini sebagai artikel tunggal dalam Bahasa Melayu di blog ini setiap tahun.

Tema bersempena dengan sambutan bulan bahasa 2011 adalah "Bahasa Jiwa Bangsa".


Bahasa Kebangsaan Malaysia

Baiklah, pastinya ramai mengetahui akan peranan besar Bahasa Melayu ini sebagai Bahasa Kebangsaan Malaysia. Namun berapa ramai di antara kita yang menggunakan bahasa ini dalam kehidupan seharian mereka? Tidak ramai. Malah, di zaman serba moden ini, ramai di antara kita yang mengaku sebagai rakyat Malaysia, malah ke tahap mengaku sebagai Bangsa Malaysia tidak tahu dan tidak fasih untuk berbahasa dalam Bahasa Melayu. Mengapa ianya berlaku?

Adakah sebab kurangnya kesedaran? ataupun berpunca kepada latar belakang pendidikan dari luar negara? Jawapannya mudah sahaja. Masing-masing tiada keyakinan untuk menggunakan Bahasa Melayu dan menganggap ianya adalah bahasa kampung yang tidak mempunyai apa-apa nilai di luar negara. Percaya atau tidak, ianya benar. Sekarang ini cuba anda pergi ke mana-mana kawasan tidak kira di institusi kerajaan, pengangkutan awam ataupun pusat-pusat kegiatan masyarakat, rata-rata semakin mengagungkan Bahasa Inggeris. Sesuatu yang amat aneh. Bahasa Inggeris diagungkan oleh seseorang yang membenci penjajah Inggeris dan melabel mereka yang bekerja dengan mereka pada zaman penjajahan dahulu sebagai pengampu British.

Tidak perlu dikatakan apa lagi kepada institusi swasta. Masing-masing sekarang ini mengisyaratkan pengambilan pekerja baru mestilah boleh berbahasa mandarin.


Tindakan dan penyelesaian

Walaupun agak terlewat, tapi usaha kerajaan untuk melaksanakan dan mewajibkan Bahasa Melayu di majlis-majlis agensi kerajaan adalah sesuatu yang wajar. Namun, ia diharapkan bukan sahaja kekal sebagai retorik tetap perlulah disertakan sekali dengan penguatkuasaan yang tegas. Dan pihak-pihak berwajib juga perlulah melaksanakan apa yang terdaya untuk mendaulatkan Bahasa yang tercinta ini. Ia juga perlulah mendapat sokongan daripada pelbagai lapisan masyarakat seperti rakyat biasa, golongan karyawan, seni, ahli politik dan lain-lain. Benda ini cukup mudah, untuk mendaulatkan Bahasa Melayu kita perlu bertutur dalam bahasa Melayu.

Begitu juga dinasihatkan kepada syarikat-syarikat swasta supaya tahu meletakkan nilai di antara apa bahasa yang penting dan perlu diutamakan. Mungkin boleh difahami jika ada pihak swasta mahu menggunakan Bahasa Inggeris, namun mengapa bahasa Mandarin diletakkan sebagai satu pra-syarat untuk kemasukan kerja? Adakah kita sekarang berada di Tanah Besar China? Ini suatu isu yang bukan lagi kecil kepada sebuah negara yang sudah berusia 54 tahun.


Bahasa Jiwa Bangsa.

Sudah ramai pihak yang cuba untuk mewujudkan satu identiti Bangsa Malaysia di bumi tercinta ini. Tetapi usaha ini kelihatan seperti tidak pernah berjaya dan tiada sambutan. Kenapa? kerana mereka tidak memperjuangkan benda asas kepada usaha tersebut iaitu persamaan dan identiti kepada Bangsa Malaysia. Apa lagi yang lebih mudah daripada memperjuangkan Bangsa Malaysia dan bertutur dalam Bahasa Melayu? Tidak perlu dipersoalkan lagi kerana ini ibarat 'Sudah terang lagi bersuluh', mereka yang tidak boleh nampak kenyataan ini sudah pastilah sudah buta mata hati kerana tidak lagi boleh melihat kebenaran di hadapan mereka sendiri.

Bahasa Melayu adalah bahasa yang dahulunya membentuk sebuah tamadun yang disegani di Asia Tenggara. Kenapa kita perlu anda rasa tidak yakin kepada bahasa sendiri? Jika kita lihat, semua negara yang meningkat maju adalah atas hasil usaha mereka sendiri dan yang penting, Bahasa Ibunda sendiri. Britain, Perancis, German, Sepanyol, China, Korea, Jepun dan lain-lain adalah contoh yang jelas. Mereka tidak perlu Bahasa lain untuk memajukan diri sendiri. Sekarang cuba anda lihat, di antara India yang menggunakan bahasa Inggeris dan China yang menggunakan Bahasa Mandarin, siapa lebih maju?

Oleh itu, usahlah rasa terhina anda menggunakan Bahasa Melayu. Ia bahasa kampung? Bahasa ini dipertuturkan oleh lebih 200 juta orang di dunia ini. Kalau bahasa ini tidak menjadi bahasa ilmu, ia bukannya salah bahasa. Ia adalah salah kita sendiri, ilmu yang didapati dalam bahasa lain tidak diterjemah dalam bahasa melayu. Bagaimana Malaysia hendak maju? Dan sampai bila kita perlu bergantung pada Bahasa lain untuk memajukan diri sendiri?

Prof Wu Zongyu dari China adalah orang yang bertanggungjawab mengembangkan Bahasa Melayu di tanah besar China, minatnya dalam Bahasa Melayu dalam masa 55 tahun sangat mendalam sehingga beliau dianugerahkan Tokoh Pejuang Bahasa Melayu Antarabangsa sempena Sambutan Bulan Bahasa 2011. Jika beliau, seorang daripada China mempunyai minat sebegitu, apatah lagi kita di Malaysia, yang memang dibesarkan dalam persekitaran berbahasa Melayu

Sultan Kedah

His Royal Highness the Sultan of Kedah, Sultan Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah was elected as the 14th Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia starting effectively on December 13, 2011. The election was made by the special convention of the 226th Conference of Ruler which was held today at 10.30 am. The new Yang di-Pertuan Agong will reign for 5-year term until December 13, 2016.

In the meeting, His Royal Highness the Sultan of Kelantan, Sultan Muhammad V was elected as the Deputy Yang di-Pertuan Agong and will served as Deputy beside the reigning Agong for the same period. This is the second time His Royal Highness Sultan Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah shall take the position as the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and the first Sultan to be elected twice to the position.

His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia, Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin consent to attend the second day meeting of the 225th Conference of Ruler held at Istana Negara. The meeting was chaired by His Royal Highness the Sultan of Kelantan, Sultan Muhammad V. In conjunction of the meeting, the Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin have hosted the State Banquet.

At night, His and Her Majesties the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and Raja Permaisuri Agong (Supreme Queen), Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin and Tuanku Nur Zahirah consent to attend the Forum Perdana Ehwal Islam, Islamic Affairs Prime Forum held at Istana Melawati. Also present at the forum were His Royal Highnesses the Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz and the Sultan of Kedah, Sultan Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah.

HRH Sultan Ahmad Shah of Pahang

His Royal Highness the Sultan of Pahang, Sultan Ahmad Shah ibni Almarhum Sultan Abu Bakar was admitted to Ampang Puteri Hospital. According to news resources, the Sultan was admitted to undergo annual medical checkup at the hospital and not because of critical illness. It is also the very reason the Sultan needs to cancel his attendance to the feast in Rompin.

Among the VVIPs seen to have visits the Sultan Ahmad Shah were His Royal Highness the Sultan of Kedah, Sultan Abd Halim al-Muadzam Shah; His Royal Highness the Raja of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Putra Jamalullail and Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib bin Tun Abd Razak.

HM Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin consent to take a commemorative picture with the 12 recipients of Agong's Scholarships

His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (the Supreme Ruler) of Malaysia, Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin consent to gave away the scholarships to the selected recipients at Istana Negara. The Agong's Scholarship was created by the government in 2006 outstanding Malaysians pursuing studies at the masters and doctorate levels at local and foreign universities. 12 recipients was enlisted to received the scholarship this year.

  3. Chang Sui Kiat, 25, who would study dietary science at Universiti Putra Malaysia.
  4. Muhammad Nazmin Yaapar, 24, who would study animal and plant science (biology) at the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom.
  5. Rohayu Jusoh, 22, who would study chemical engineering at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.
  6. Ummi Abdullah, 25, who would study medical biotechnology at the University of Oxford, United Kingdom.

Nur Zareen Zulkarnain, is the youngest recipient of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong's scholarship.

His Royal Highness the Sultan of Kelantan, Sultan Muhammad V chaired the 225th Conference of Ruler Meeting held at Istana Negara, Kuala Lumpur. The meeting today was attended by all Malay rulers except for Terengganu who was represented by the Tengku Seri Bendahara, Raja Tengku Mustaffa Kamel, and Pahang by the Tengku Mahkota, Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah.

Their Royal Highnesses were accompanied by the respective states' menteri besar. The Yang Dipertua Negeri of Penang, Yang Dipertua Negeri of Sabah and Yang Dipertua Negeri of Melaka were accompanied by the respective chief ministers, except for Sarawak who was not present at the meeting.
