Masjid Al-Khalidiah opening ceremony

HRH Sultan of Kedah, Sultan Abd Halim Muadzam Shah gave his consent to proclaim the opening ceremony of Masjid Al-Khalidiah at Kampung Pematang Pasir, Tikam Batu. The construction of the Masjid was funded by Datuk Siti Nurhaliza Taruddin and her husband, Datuk Seri Khalid Mohamad Jiwa.

Datuk Seri Khalid who was also originated from Kampung Pematang Pasir said the new masjid was built on the original site of the old Masjid Kampung Pematang Pasir. The cost of demolished the old masjid and the construction of the new masjid are almost RM2 million. The construction of the new masjid started on 1^st December 2009 and completed on August 2010. The Masjid main hall can accommodate almost 500 jemaah at one time.

Other than the private contributions, the project was also funded by Yayasan Nurjiwa, founded by Datuk Seri Khalid and his wife, Datuk Siti Nurhaliza.
