HM Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin inspecting the Guard-of-Honour upon his arrival at Seoul Air Base

His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (The Supreme Ruler) of Malaysia, Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin gave his consent to make a royal visits to the Republic of South Korea for two days. His Majesty were accompanied by Her Majesty the Raja Permaisuri Agong (Queen) of Malaysia, Tuanku Nur Zahirah and 2 of their son and daughter, His Highness Tengku Muhammad Muaz and Her Highness Tengku Fatimatuz Zahra. Datuk Mustapha Mohamed was also accompanied the royal entourage.

The royal plane arrived at Seoul Air Base 5.35 pm (local time). The arrival of the royal entourage were greeted by the Deputy Foreign and Trade Minister of South Korea, Park Suk Hwan; Malaysian Ambassador to South Korea, Datuk Ramlan Ibrahim and South Korea Head Protocol Officer, Taeyong Cho. A total of 21 cannon shots were released, followed by a singing of the national anthem, Negaraku. HM Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin then consented to inspect the Guard-of-Honour consist of various branches of South Korean Military.

Later, His and Her Majesties Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin and Tuanku Nur Zahirah paid a courtesy visit to the President of South Korea, Lee Myung Bak at the Presidential Palace, or also known as Cheong Wa Dae which means 'The Blue House'. The arrival of their Majesties were greeted by the President and the First Lady, Lee Myung-bak and his wife, Kim Yoon-Ok.

This is the first State Visit to South Korea by the Supreme Ruler to respond the visit of the President of South Korea to Malaysia in December last year.
