His Royal Highness the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah opens the Outreach Programme of Institute of Geology Malaysia (IGM) and Groundwater Conference held in Kuala Lumpur yesterday. The Sultan also spent time hearing a briefing from the President of Institute of Geology Malaysia, Datuk Yunus Abdul Razak when visiting one of the booth after the launching ceremony. The conference takes 'What, Why, Where and How?' as its theme.

In his opening speech, His Royal Highness has reminded the state government not to politicise the water issue for the sake of the people and development of the state. He said this was to avert a water crisis that could jeopardise Selangor's reputation as a developed state and caused investors to relocate to other places.
