His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (the Supreme Ruler) of Malaysia, Tuanku Abdul Halim Mua'dzam Shah consent to confer the Federal Honorary Medal and Award in conjunction of the Federal Territory Day on February 1, 2012. The ceremony was held at Istana Melawati, Putrajaya. Also accompanied the King were his consort, Her Majesty the Raja Permaisuri Agong (the Supreme Queen) of Malaysia, Tuanku Hajah Haminah; Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak and wife, Datin Paduka Seri Rosmah Mansur and Deputy Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and wife, Puan Sri Norainee Abd Rahman.
279 recipient were enlist to received the Federal Award in this year Federal Investiture Day. Among those who received the award were :-
- Chairman of Mubarak, Tan Sri Abu Hassan Omar who received the Order of Darjah Seri Utama Mahkota Wilayah (SUMW) which carries the title 'Datuk Seri Utama'.
- Inspector-General of Police, Tan Sri Ismail Omar who received the Order of Darjah Seri Utama Mahkota Wilayah (SUMW) which carries the title 'Datuk Seri Utama'. He was absent in the ceremony due to his official visit to London and only be back to Malaysia this Thursday.
In the same ceremony, five received the Order of Darjah Seri Mahkota Wilayah (SMW) which carries the title 'Datuk Seri', 34 received the Order of Panglima Mahkota Wilayah (PMW) which carries the title 'Datuk', 30 received the Order of Johan Mahkota Wilayah (JMW), 74 received the Order of Ahli Mahkota Wilayah (AMW) and other 84 received the Order of Pangkuan Mahkota Wilayah (PPW).
In the ceremony, the King expressed his joy with the rapid development of Kuala Lumpur and was on the right track towards achieving world-class city status and be among the list of 20 most liveable cities by 2020.
