The Radin's Blog today covers a topic from the Malaysian Borneo. Borneo population consist of a multi-cultural societies far complex than that in Peninsular Malaysia with the existence of various tribes and ethnic. Today, we will covers the unique hierarchical stature of the Kadazandusun tribes in the State of Sabah, the Land Beneath the Wind.

The community of Kadazandusun consist of 40 indigenous tribes ethnic communities in Sabah have its own non-political society known as The Kadazandusun Cultural Association Sabah (KDCA). Since its inception, the KDCA has focused much of its efforts in the preservation, development, enrichment and the promotion of the Kadazandusun multi-ethnic cultures.

In addition, the KDCA has the power and responsibilities to bestow the Kadazandusun Paramount Leadership Title termed as "Huguan Siou" (Paramount Leader), an institutionalized Paramount Leadership of the Koisaan. Upon the vacancy of the Huguan Siou's Office, the KDCA may hold Extra-ordinary delegates's conference to resolve the installation of the Huguan Siou. However, if no leader is considered worthy of the title, then the office would rather be left vacant until such time comes when a deserving Kadazandusun leader is undoubtedly established. This is in respect of the highly dignified and near sacred office of the Kadazandusun's Huguan Siou). The Huguan Siou will served for life after its installation.
