1st June 2013, today is the designated birthday of His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia. The celebration was celebrated in the federal level throughout the nation. The office of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong was created in 1956 as the highest authority and sovereign of the Federation of Malaya when the country in the brink of achieving its independence. The office later become the highest authority of Malaysia following the creation of the new federation when Sabah, Sarawak and Singapore (The New States) is to federate with the existing States of Federation of Malaya. The office of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong literally translated as "He who is made Lord" is also known as The Supreme Ruler of the Federation and commonly refer to as King of Malaysia.
The incumbent Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia is His Majesty Al-Mu'tasimu Billahi Muhibbuddin Tuanku Al-Haj Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah ibni Almarhum Sultan Badlishah. Congratulation to His Majesty following the birthday celebration.
In conjunction of the celebration, the consort to the Supreme Ruler known as Her Majesty the Raja Permaisuri Agong, Tuanku Hajah Haminah received a new official portrait signify the changes of Her Majesty of wearing hijab in daily basis. The Queen started to wear hijab after performing the Hajj in the holy city of Makkah last year.
