Oath of Appointment

Raja of perlis

HRH the Raja of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin gave his consent to appoint the new States Executives Councillor for a new one year term (2011-2012). HRH Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin also express his wishes during the ceremony to the line of States Exco that :-

  • The state exco must prioritize the State and the citizens
  • As a leader, the decision made must takes all aspects into accounts and not just one sided decisions.
  • All Exco must hold an unofficial meeting at least once in every two months.

Also presences in the ceremony are the Raja Muda (Crown Prince) of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail and the Menteri Besar (Chief Minister) of Perlis, Datuk Seri Dr. Md Isa Sabu.

HRH the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Azlan Shah gave his consent to proclaim the opening ceremony of the States of Perak largest sports events, the sixth edition of Sukan Perak, Super VI. The ceremony was held at Stadium Indera Mulia. 11 types of sports shall be contested in the event from 11th until 19th March.

In the sixth edition, each of districts in Perak shall hosted one type of the contested sport. Batang Padang district shall hosted the Silambam, Hilir Perak (Karate-do), Hulu Perak (Archery), Kerian (Badminton), Kampar (Sepak Takraw), Perak Tengah (Taekwondo), Kinta (Track Event), Kuala Kangsar (Basketball), Larut Matang and Selama (Silat) and Manjung (Hockey).

HM the Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia, Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin gave his consent to officiate the launching ceremony of a new book related to the Malay Rulers, Kegemilangan Raja-Raja Melayu (Literally, the Golden Age of Malay Rulers). It covers the history of the Malay Sultanates in Malaysia. The book consist of 409 pages are published by Leone Communications Sdn Bhd also presented the lineage and family tree of the nine Malay Rulers. It is also covers the background of the Federal Honorific Medal and Order.

Presences in the ceremony are Minister at the Prime Minister Department, Datuk Seri Mohd Nazri Abdul Aziz; Minister of Youth and Sport, Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek and Historian, Tan Sri Prof. Emeritus Khoo Kay Kim, who is also the advisor to the book’s publication.

HM Raja Permaisuri Agong (The Supreme Queen) of Malaysia, Tuanku Nur Zahirah and the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Abd Razak receives the order of Bintang Semangat Padi Kelas Pertama (Emas) from Malaysia Scout Association. HM Yang di-Pertuan Agong (The Supreme Ruler) of Malaysia, Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin has given his consent to bestow the order in conjunction of Scout’s Medal and Order Conferment Ceremony held at Istana Melawati. The Bintang Semangat Padi is the highest Malaysia Scout Association award and only conferred to the highest ranking leader in National and State Level.

In the ceremony, HM Tuanku Nur Zahirah was proclaimed as the Honorary National Scout Commissioner while the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Najib was proclaimed as the Supreme President of the Malaysia Scout Association. There are about 130 recipients of various Scouts Medal and Order in the ceremony, namely Bintang Pahlawan, Bintang Semangat Padi Perak, Bintang Semangat Rimba Emas, Bintang Semangat Rimba Perak, Bintang Semangat Rimba Perak (Kehormat), Pingat Perkhidmatan Gemilang and Pingat Perkhidmatan Cemerlang.

Also presence at the ceremony is the Malaysian Scout Leader, Datuk Seri Dr. Shafie Mohd Salleh.

The Ruler’s Legacy

HM The Yang di-Pertuan Agong (The Supreme Ruler) of Malaysia, Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin gave his consent to officiate the launching ceremony of a book name Tiang Seri Negara, Yang di-Pertuan Agong Semenjak 1957 at Taman Perdana Diraja. The book is written by Datin Azizah Mokhzani and was published by Arus Intelek Sdn Bhd. The publication of the book is lined by advisory panels that are familiar with the country’s constitutional monarchy. Among others are Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah, Tan Sri Dr Arshad Ayub, Tan Sri Kamarul Ariffin Mohamed Yassin, Tan Sri Dr. Syed Jalaluddin Syed Salim and Prof. Dr. Abdullah Zakaria Ghazali. It also has been certified by the Palace in each respective state.

The book covers the stories of the biography, legacy and contributions of all 13 Malaysian Supreme Rulers since the first Yang di-Pertuan Agong in 1957. The book consist of 352 pages, and has the collections of 620 photos including 415 historical photos and those which have been personally captured by the fourth Yang di-Pertuan Agong, HM Tuanku Ismail Nasiruddin Shah who wins the Internationale de I’art Photograpique Competition in Switzerland.

The Proclamation ceremony of HRH Tunku Ismail as the Regent of Johor

HRH the Tunku Mahkota (Crown Prince) of Johor, Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim was been proclaimed as the Regent of Johor. The proclamation is to allowed the Crown Prince to exercise the State administration and official function during the absent of the Sultan of Johor in the state. The proclamation and appointment was held according to the Johor State Constitution 1895, at Istana Besar Johor Bahru.

Presences in the ceremony are the Menteri Besar (Chief Minister) of Johor, Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman, the members of Johor Royal Family and State’s Executive Councilors.

HRH Tunku Ismail ibni Sultan Ibrahim was appointed as the Tunku Mahkota (Crown Prince) of Johor on 28th January 2010 after his father inherited the throne following the death of his grandfather, Almarhum Sultan Iskandar ibni Almarhum Sultan Ismail. HRH Tunku Ismail was the first son of Sultan Ibrahim and his consort, HRH Raja Zarith Sofia ibni Almarhum Sultan Idris.

HRH Sultan of Kelantan, Sultan Muhammad V during the opening ceremony of Kelantan State Assembly Seating.

HRH the Sultan of Kelantan, Sultan Muhammad V ibni Sultan Ismail Petra gave his consent to proclaim the opening ceremony of 4th Session of 12th Kelantan State Assembly Seating at Kota Darul Naim. In his speech, Sultan Muhammad V express his opinion, suggestion and hope for the State Government to :-
  • Focused more on the development of low-cost housing for low-income citizens.
  • Increased the provision to develop more infrastructure project, especially highway network in the state.
In the ceremony, the Sultan has given his hope that the State of Kelantan has a potential and can compete with neighbouring countries especially in term of capital cost and the cost of living. Presence in the ceremony are the Menteri Besar (Chief Minister) of Kelantan, Datuk Seri Nik Abdul Aziz bin Nik Mat.

HRH Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah gives the letter of appointment to Raja Arshad as the new Chancellor of Unisel replacing Datin Seri Rosmah Mansur.

HRH the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah gave his consent to deliver the letter of appointment Raja Arshad bin Raja Tun Uda as the new Chancellor of Universiti Selangor, Unisel. The ceremony takes place at Istana Bukit Kayangan, Shah Alam. The appointment of Raja Arshad has been announce by Selangor’ Executive Council of Education, Higher Learning and Human Capital Development, Dr Halimah Ali on 14th February 2011. The appointment of Raja Arshad is to replace the previous Chancellor, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansur, the wife of the Prime Minister of Malaysia which ended her service on 5th February 2011.

Presence in the ceremony are the Menteri Besar (Chief Minister) of Selangor, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid bin Ibrahim and the State Secretary, Datuk Mohammed Khusrin bin Munawi.

In the ceremony, HRH Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah has reminded that the power to choose and appoint the Chancellor of Unisel are vested in the hand of the ruling Sultan of Selangor.

Sultan of Johor received DKNS

HRH Sultan Ibrahim received the honorary medal from HRH Tuanku Muhriz in the ceremony yesterday

HRH the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim ibni almarhum Sultan Iskandar received an honorary medal of Darjah Kerabat Negeri Sembilan (DKNS) from the Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz ibni Almarhum Tuanku Munawir in a special ceremony at Istana Besar Seri Menanti yesterday. The Sultan of Johor receives the medal in conjunction of the 63rd birthday celebration of Tuanku Muhriz. In the ceremony, Sultan Ibrahim also gave his consent to bestowed an honorary medal Darjah Kerabat Johor Yang Amat Dihormati Pangkat Pertama (DK I) to Tuanku Muhriz.

Presences at the ceremony are the Tunku Mahkota (Crown Prince) of Johor, Tunku Ismail Idris ibni Sultan Ibrahim and Tunku Zain al-Abidin ibni Tuanku Muhriz. Also attending the ceremony are the Menteri Besars (Chief Ministers) of Negeri Sembilan and Johor, Datuk Seri Muhammad Hassan and Datuk Seri Abdul Ghani Othman, and states senior officers.

1st March 2011, today is the 78th Anniversary of Malaysian Army. In Malay, it is known as Tentera Darat Malaysia. Malaysian Army was first established on 1st March 1933 following a Bill called as Malay Regiment Bill was passed on 23rd January 1933 in the Federal Council of the Federated Malay States. The First Experimental Malay Company was recruited and consists of 25 males. The first Commanding Officer was Major General Mcl. S. Bruce.

The Malaysian Army currently consist of 17 Corps or Regiments and grouped into 3 main components; The Combat Element, The Combat Support Element, and The Support Element. The most prestigious regiment in the Malaysian Army was the Rejimen Askar Melayu Diraja (RAMD). There are approximately 100,000 active personnel and 41,600 active reserves in the Malaysian Army.
