The 13th General Election of Malaysia

Today is the historic day for all of Malaysia, the 13th General Election is finally held. All political parties in Malaysia has started their bit to gain the support of the voters and not to mention to renew their mandate as the ruling parties. In 2013, the political landscape in Malaysia has changed dramatically. Malaysia parliamentary democracy allowed a multi-parties system, nevertheless most of parties in Malaysia has align themselves into two major coalition the Barisan Nasional and the Pakatan Rakyat. This is due to the fact that no political parties can survives alone in Malaysia political landscape. A multi-racial country and yet consist of two major geographical land of Malaya and Borneo, need the parties to find an ally to assist them. And in addition, those who does not want to ally themselves with BN and PR, has emerges themselves as the Third Power. (Even though they mostly does not gives any major threat to BN and PR).

As a Johorean, I am a core supporter of BN. Nevertheless, I am open to any changes that PR had to offer. PR has proves themselves capable of leading a State Government even though some problems did exist in the Government. I'm sure all Government faces the same problems including BN. I wish all the best for the Chairman of BN, Dato Seri Mohd Najib bin Tun Abdul Razak in this General Election. May he is given a new mandate by the voters after proving himself as a Prime Minister for already 4 years. For BN, their motto is always Dulu, Kini, Selamanya (Past, Present, Always).

And to the PR, I wish all the best to the De Facto Leader of PR, Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim to lead the PR to regain their mandate. Known as 'Warrior of Deception' as a debater, his speeches is indeed fatal to any who dare to opposed him. For PR, their motto is always Jom Ubah (Let's Change).

Wishing all the best to all political parties in Malaysia in this year election. Win or lose is not important. What most important is we as a voters gives our bit to choose a worthy candidate to lead the Government. And, it is up to our beloved King to choose the one that have the most support in the Parliament as the Prime Minister. 

Batu Sapi and Galas ; What they say?

Yesterday, the result of Galas State Assembly and Batu Sapi Parlimentary Seat by-elections was announces, a clear victory 2-0 for National Front. National Front is represented by Abdul Aziz Yusoff from UMNO and Datin Linda Tsen Thau Lin from PBS in the by-election. So, the election has come to past and life must go on. So, let we hear the opinion from both sides after the elections.


UMNO

The President of UMNO, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak currently in a medical leave due to chicken pox. Thus, the National Front Campaign was vested on his deputy, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin. Datuk Seri Najib also thanks the UMNO Chief of Gua Musang, Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah who lead the election campaign in Galas and the Chief Minister of Sabah, Datuk Seri Musa Aman who lead the election campaign in Batu Sapi.

The voters have given their trust and confidence to the National Front to bring progress and improving the welfare of the population in Batu Sapi and Galas. So, any promises makes in the elections shall be fulfilled.

Galas is represented by UMNO while Batu Sapi is represented by UMNO allies in the National Front, PBS.


PAS

The President of Pas, Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang commented that even though the People’s Pact have lost in the elections, but it gave a clear signal to the population that the parties stand strong in any circumstances. Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi also gave his thanks to all Pas’s and the People Pact’s Electors Campaign for their contributions in the election.

Losing does not mean our principle is wrong and we shall face the defeat of the elections. We will stands strong to faces the National Front in the future.

Galas is represented by PAS candidate while Batu Sapi is represented by PAS allies in the People’s Pact, PKR.

UMNO and PAS

Welcome to my blog

It has been a long time since the last time I post an article regarding politics in my blog. Don’t get me wrong, this is not a politics portal and I don’t have any intentions to change this blog into one. The only reason I do it is because I just wants to share my intentions and thoughts after the ended of UMNO General Assembly. In not so distance future, two by-elections will be held at Batu Sapi Parliamentary Seating and Galas State Assembly Seating. We have two political alliances National Front and People’s Pact, housing numbers of political parties. But, these two parties usually never fail to get my intentions, UMNO and PAS. And up until now, these two parties is the only party that I will cast my vote too. (Nevertheless, your vote is a secret… huhuhu…)


UMNO (United Malay National Organization)

The history of UMNO is divided into two parts, The Old and New UMNO. New UMNO is founded by the Prime Minister of Malaysia at that time, Datuk Seri Mahathir Mohamad on 11th February 1988, with a new party greatly resemblance to the former one, the old UMNO. The old UMNO which been established on 11th May 1946 at Istana Besar Johor Bahru has been declared unlawful by Justice Datuk Harun Hashim under Societies Act of 1966 on 4th February 1988 (due to existence of several unregistered branches). Later, the suffix “Baru (New)” at the new UMNO was dropped and UMNO (baru) became the de facto and de jure successor of UMNO (with the old UMNO’s asset handed over).

Since Malayan General Elections in 1955, UMNO has been an alliance to both MCA and MIC up to date. Currently, UMNO is the de facto leader of National Front, coalition consists of 13 political parties. The incumbent leader of UMNO is Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak. All Prime Ministers of Malaysia to date is from UMNO. Johor is one of the strongholds of UMNO.

It is not perfect to speak about UMNO if we forgot about PAS. The history of PAS (Parti Islam Se-Malaysia) shares many similarities with UMNO, as it is originally the Ulama’ wings of UMNO. Later, after the party’s constitution amendment, it’s participating in the first General Election in 1955 and won 1 seat. PAS currently is the most senior opposition party exists in Malaysia. It is founded by 4th April 1956 as Pan-Malayan Islamic Party (PMIP). Later, in the time of Asri Muda, the party’s name change to Parti Islam Se-Malaysia (PAS) and known as Islamic Party of Malaysia in English rather than its previous name.

Similar to UMNO, the party is the first party in the history of Malaysia to defeat the ruling National Front and alliances in state level. PAS has associated itself to many political alliances, namely Barisan Nasional, Gagasan Rakyat, Barisan Alternatif and the most success up to date, Pakatan Rakyat. Even though have a parliamentary seats lower than DAP and PKR, it is undoubtedly the most dominant political party in Pakatan Rakyat. The party's stronghold is Kelantan.

First Anniversary

Finally the special day has come, the 1st anniversary of Radin’s Blog! It has been a year and this is the day when I posted my first article in my blog. At that time, I knew nothing. My blog is just a simple, ordinary blog. No pictures, no video, no fancy accessory. Even my vocabulary is bad, too many spelling mistakes. But, the blog has come a long way since then.

We need improvement in our life. And that’s a challenge that I ready to take. Each day, I learn something new, searching new videos, new photos and much-much more. Thanks to all my friends and my followers that have reply to my post. I will work harder to improve the blog even more. Any suggestions please kindly sent your comment here… =)

Kelantan : Between Royalty and Ihsan Payment

This is the announcement made by Malaysian Prime Minister, Dato Seri Najib Razak during the Malaysian Parliament session yesterday. Nevertheless, some MP’s from Kelantan still raised the question about the matter. Why it must be Compassionate payment instead of Royalty Payment. It never changes the fact that Kelantan is among the oil and gas producer in the federation alongside Sabah, Sarawak and Terengganu.

Siti zailah (Rantau Panjang MP) with her firm stances voices whether the Federation will gave the payment to Kelantan Government or to the Federal JPP. Salahuddin Ayub (Kubang Kerian) also urges the Federation to pay the oil royalty payment to Kelantan just like it has been done to other states, 5% from the total of oil production from the state. His opinion also agreed by Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah (Gua Musang) who is the Petronas’s Chairman in 1975. He is also the one who signed the treaty at that time.

Prime Minister Najib on the other hand answering the question said that the Kelantan Government never had the rights of oil royalty because the oil production is coming from the joint venture area between Thailand and Malaysia (JDA).

Soon after the announcement, the Kelantan State Government has voiced its decision to file an injunction to the Federal Government. The state government however, still open for any negotiations.

Chua reinstated, Liow Objects

EGM has been held, Chua has been ousted, Liow become the new Deputy President, what’s next? Chua reinstated as Deputy President.

This is the chronology of the MCA’s leadership crisis when Chua remains as the Party’s Deputy President by Registrar of Societies (ROS). According to ROS, Chua still the Deputy President because it is clearly stated in the MCA’s constitution (Article 35) that 2/3 majority is needed to vacant the seat. During the EGM, the vote of no confidence is still not enough even majority of the delegates has spoken wants to ousted Chua as the Deputy President.

Meanwhile, Liow has been announced as the party’s Vice President. Firm in his decision, Liow wants to challenge ROS decision. He said that the ROS decision was illegal. He currently downgraded as the party’s Vice President again. If Chua reinstatement stand, Liow shall be the shortest serving Deputy President in MCA’s history --- 19 days!

"Since my appointment was done in full compliance of the party constitution, I reserve my right to challenge the ROS and seek a court declaration to declare the ROS decision null and void." (source)

The party president, Ong Tee Keat on the other hand, using his capacity as MCA President to sacks four central committees aligned to Liow Tiong Lai. This move has been seen as his way to tighten his grip to the party and to serve as a warning to detractors.

BN meanwhile accepted Chua position as the Deputy President because it has been confirmed by ROS.

Shall this event led to another EGM?

BN : Change for the better

Once again Radin’s Blog bring to you a newsflash of Malaysia Politics. UMNO AGM, MCA EGM, not to mention PPP’s struggle made me excited for the news. But, please noted that this blog is not a political type blog. The struggle of National Front (BN) component party to changes themselves in order to get back the support from the voters. In fact, after 2008 General Elections, one by one BN component party suffered a major crisis.


UMNO AGM

Started from 13 October, the United Malay National Organization (UMNO) Annual Grand Meeting is held. And the party has started a major changes this year especially make up a numbers of amendment in its party constitution. It is to make the party more transparent, inclusive and democratic. The party president, Dato Seri Najib wants UMNO to change in time.

The amendment is agreed unanimously by all delegates.

"We want the people to love UMNO. All they wish is UMNO to transform. Indeed we are listening to their wish. We will change.”

The second largest component party has left without a leader after vote of no confidence has been passed to the Party President and Deputy President. And, the Party Central Committee has made a decision today to maintain Ong Tee Keat as the party President. While the party Vice-President, Liow Tiong Lai has been elected as the new party Deputy President. (source)


PPP Struggle

Personally, I don’t know to consider this event as a party struggle, but the event is triggered by two people who previously led to a constitutional crisis to PPP. Senator T. Murugiah has filed a RM 10 million defamation suit against the PPP President M. Kayveas. Murugiah who is also the Deputy Minister in a Prime Minister’s Department claim that Kayveas has uttered false and malicious statement during press conferences on several occasions.

"What he said has tarnished my name and image as a deputy minister. Of course I have to do something about it."

Bagan Pinang (N31) by-election results

After 7 days of campaign, 11 157 out of 13 664 voters of Bagan Pinang have completed their responsibilities voting for their new state assemblyman. The by-election also marked some unwanted event like provocations from both side of BN and PR and small riots is inevitable. But, the police have finally managed to get things in order. The result has been announced.

It is a landslide victory for BN candidate, Tan Sri Isa Samad who is also the former Menteri Besar of Negeri Sembilan. The winning also see an increasing majority of vote to the BN. Isa Samad (BN) manage to get 8013 votes while Zulkefley (PAS) only get 2578 votes. Isa manage to get a majority of 5435 votes.

Today is a very important day for Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA) and also for Malaysia’s politics. New political party is been formed today, Malaysian Makkal Sakti Party (MMSP).


MCA EGM

The tug-of-war crisis for two factions in MCA started with the controversial decision of the Party President, Ong Tee Keat when he dismisses the Deputy President, Chua Soi Lek. The supporter for these two politicians has made a tough time for MCA especially in this time of reduced support of the Chinese for MCA. Thus, the party has made the decision to hold the Extraordinary Grand Meeting (EGM) to discuss this matter whether to support Ong or Soi Lek.

And the delegates of the party have spoken. The delegates has voted a bill of no confidence to the President, and ousted the Deputy President from his seat.

With the decision from the delegates, the party now left without a Leader. The future of the Party will be discussed in the High Council of MCA meeting on 15 October 2009.


Malaysian Makkal Sakti Party (MSSP)

The new Party in Malaysia is formed. The inauguration is done by the Prime Minister Najib himself. As the Prime Minister for all Malaysian, he has the responsibilities to all. The new party is a racial party for Indian community.

With just 2 million populations, the Malaysian Indian is support by almost 8 parties. Among other are MIC, Gerakan, PPP, KIMMA, DAP, and MIUP. Which side should the Party belong? BN or PR? Up until now, it still an independent party.

Can this party receive support from the Indians? I still believe, no party in Malaysia can survive alone in Malaysia. (Especially racial based party)

Bagan Pinang (N31) By-election

It’s been a while since I get in touch with the last by-elections. Today is a nomination day for state assembly seat (N31) of Bagan Pinang. The Election Comity announce the by-election after the seat is vacant following the death of Azman Mohd Noor, 55 (UMNO-BN) due to blood infection.

After the rejection of Independent candidate, the election is a straight fight between BN and PAS. BN place the former Menteri Besar, Tan Sri Isa Samad, 59, who is also Teluk Kemang UMNO division chief.

PAS meanwhile is represented by Zulkefley Mohamad Omar, 45, PAS’s State Commissioner.

Can BN win this time? Or will PR enjoy its winning streak since Permatang Pauh by-election? We will see on 10 October 2009.

State Assembly Seating : In a Hotel?

After the famous seating below a tree, yesterday 3 September 2009, the former Perak State Assembly Speaker, S. Sivakumar starting the seating in a hotel and acting as the assembly speaker. The seating started on 11.30 am is held in Heritage Hotel, Ipoh after their attempt to hold it in Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan failed.

The seating has pass on a bill to arrest the Speaker R. Ganesan and Deputy Speaker Hee Yit Fong.


COMMENT

From my point of view, the Pakatan Rakyat currently still firm on their stances that they are the legal government that currently still rules the state. In the past, ‘the seating below a tree’ has agreed on a bill to dissolve the assembly so that a new fresh election can be held and a new government can be choose by the people. But, without the King consent, the Pakatan Rakyat eventually falls.

This is the only way left for the Pakatan Rakyat to gain the people support. If they just accept the King decision, there is a possibilities that the current BN government will eventually gain the people trust once again and it is a critical blow to Pakatan Rakyat who is able to form a government in Perak during 2008 General Election.

Make me wonder, can Perak achieve its ‘Develop State’ status in 2015 just like the vision that been stated by the Regent of Perak, Raja Dr Nazrin Shah to the assembly before. If this situation still goes on until 2013, I don’t think much can be done to the state of Perak accept,

According to the constitution of Malaysia, we adapt the parliamentary democracy in closed system with the Westminster system. And also, Malaysia is a multiparty system during the election. Meaning, there is no limit on how many party can contest in either parliamentary seat or state assembly seat. However, the scenario in Malaysia nowadays is moving into a 2-system party. Due to the fact that, most party has aligned themselves into one entity to coop with the harsh atmosphere of Malaysia politics.

BARISAN NASIONAL


Commonly refers as National Front in English, it is the major political alliance in Malaysia and a successor to the Alliance Party. It is also has formed a government in Malaysia since 1955 undisturbed yet. Usually gain more that 2/3 majority in the parliament and only failed to gain it twice, in 1969 and 2008 General Election. The BN ideology are Economic Conservatism, Social conservatism, Right Wing and Moralist.

It is consist of 13 political parties, each party are racial based party accept for Gerakan. The current leader is Prime Minister Najib.

PAKATAN RAKYAT


Commonly refers as People’s Pact, it is the successor to the Barisan Alternatif (1999-2008). It is also the most successful opposition alliance yet. In 2008 General Election, it is able to denied Barisan Nasional 2/3 Majority in the Parliament and formed a government in 5 states. The ideology of PR are Social justice, Progressive, Social democracy and Public welfare.

It is a loose coalition of 3 parties PKR, DAP and PAS. The current leader is Anwar Ibrahim.

I will do this in an easy way, cast your vote based on candidates and not based on Political Parties. Remember, in Parliamentary Democracy, you are casting your vote for the candidate and not for political parties as there are possibilities of ‘defecting’ MP, and this can prove to be fatal. Still remember the Perak Crisis right?

Perak Crisis... Again?

Yesterday, 7 May 2009 was the Perak State Assembly opening ceremony. Malaysians know well about the constitutional crisis in the state. And now, the crisis somehow has stirred a huge uproar into the assembly.

The opening ceremony that should be started with royal address by Perak Regent, Raja Dr. Nazrin Shah at 10am had to wait until 3.15pm to do so. Not only that, the sitting also saw 3 one hour breaks, abusive exchanges, flared tempers, much pushing and shoving between opposing lawmakers, and former speaker V. Sivakumar being removed from the assembly by policemen.

Almost 60 Pakatan supporters were arrested throughout the day, including several DAP leaders and a blogger.


CHRONOLOGY

1. Right after BN and Pakatan Assemblymen enter the Assembly, a shouting match ensued when Sivakumar ordered Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Zambry Abdul Kadir, his six exco members and the three independents friendly to BN to leave the sitting.
2. Sivakumar refused to begin proceedings unless the group of 10 obeyed his directive and ordered the sergeant-at-arms to remove them. The sergeant-at-arms, however, refused to heed his instruction.
3. Zambry tried to move a motion to sack Sivakumar twice but was rejected by the latter on both occasions despite support from all BN and independent assemblymen.
4. The menteri besar then said that Sivakumar had been effectively expelled, which led to Deputy Speaker Hee Yit Foong presiding over the sitting at 10.50am.
5. Zambry immediately proposed former Sungkai assemblyman Datuk R. Ganesan as the new speaker and was seconded by senior exco member Hamidah Osman.
6. With support from 31 assemblymen, Hee duly announced to the sitting that Ganesan had been elected as the new speaker. Sivakumar, however, still refused to leave and remained firmly seated in the speaker's chair.
   
   
   
7. DAP assemblyman Thomas Su Keong Siong tried to grab the microphone from Ganesan which led to BN assemblymen forming a protective ring around the new speaker.
8. As the situation worsened with the two sides nearly coming to blows, several plainclothes policemen entered the hall and tried to restore order despite shouts of protest from Pakatan assemblymen.
9. Ganesan tried his best to reason with the Pakatan assemblymen, saying
   "the speaker is chosen by the assembly, not the rakyat".
10. Sivakumar was then escorted out of the assembly by several policemen amid shouts of "keluarkan, keluarkan" (get him out, get him out).
    
    
    
11. As the chaos continued, Zambry moved a motion for prayers in anticipation of Raja Nazrin delivering the royal address.
12. Calm was momentarily restored when all the remaining 58 assemblymen took their seats and listened to Raja Nazrin's speech.
    
    
    
13. Within minutes of Raja Nazrin leaving the house, Ganesan announced that the fractious meeting of the second term of the 12th Assembly was adjourned sine die.

Pelantikan Speaker, usul yang dilulus sah - Peguam
Hafarizam berkata, penyingkiran Sivakumar adalah sah kerana usul itu difailkan lebih 14 hari sebelum persidangan dan oleh itu ia perlu dibahaskan dan diputuskan pada persidangan hari ini.
Mengikut Perintah Tetap Dewan Negeri, sebarang usul yang dibawa lebih 14 hari perlu dibentangkan untuk kelulusan Dewan.

“Perkara 36A (1) (b) menyatakan bahawa tanpa kehadiran Speaker, Timbalan Speaker boleh mempengerusikan sehingga pelantikan Speaker yang baru dan Hee (Yit Foong) mengisi kekosongan itu merupakan pelantikan yang betul,” katanya kepada Bernama di sini hari ini.
Mengenai dakwaan pakatan pembangkang bahawa persidangan DUN itu tidak sah, Hafarizam berkata terdapat persetujuan Diraja bagi persidangan dan mesyuarat telah pun diwartakan.

‘‘Lagi pun, BN mempunyai 31 undi dan peraturan majoriti mudah menyatakan bahawa usul yang diluluskan hari ini semuanya sah termasuk persidangan itu,” katanya.

Muhammad Shafee berkata, dalam sebarang kes, Speaker tidak boleh menggantung mana-mana ahli Dewan untuk tidak melebihi sehari.

COMMENT

What has happen? What went wrong? Who is the bad guys?

Maybe that some of questions that can be heard in this situation. From my point of view, it is not the question who right or who wrong. It is whether can both sides, BN and PR can work together despite their political backgrounds.

UK multiparty House of Commons and USA Senate has prove their credibility to serve for their respective nations and their actually can work together and be less partisan in some situations. UK House of commons currently almost 11 parties in the assembly and still can retain order, even with Prime Minister is challenged by 2 shadow Prime Minister.

USA even with 2 party system, the senate is prove to be less partisan with its 6-years term.

But, what happen to Malaysia? 2 dominant party, 1 leader with 1 shadow leader, ended up with confrontations, and its only a state assembly with 59 seats.

Almost 1 year, both sides has said to serves for the people, but with the situations now, I think that some of this assemblymen only be elected not to serve for the people but for their own personal gain. Usually ended up, "this is what people want".

Just my personal view, I think we don't have to hold another by-elections or choose a new Chief Minister, but likely a conventions, so that this two party, BN and PR alike must do whatever they can to cooperate with each other... by any means necessary.
Perak have its own Vision 2015, and it is just 6 years from now....

Bukit Selambau, Bukit Gantang and Batang Ai By-Elections

The nomination process for 3 by-elections has been done yesterday, 29 March 2009. 1 parlimentary seat and 2 state assembly seats is contested, DUN Bukit Selambau, DUN Batang Ai and P Bukit Gantang. The elections will start at 7 April 2009

P Bukit Gantang

The previous holder of this seat is Roslan Shaharom (PAS). The seat is vacant after the holder die.

It is a 3 corner fight between Ismail Safian (BN), Datuk Seri Ir. Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin (PAS) and Kamarul Ramizu Idris (Independent).

DUN Batang Ai

The previous holder of this seat is Datuk Dublin Unting Inkot (BN). The seat is also vacant after the holder die.

It is a 2-corner fight between Malcolm Mussen Lamoh (BN) and Jawah Gerang (PKR)

DUN Bukit Selambau

The previous holder is V Arumugam (PKR). The seat is vacant after the holder resign from the post.

BN Candidate (wearing blue Baju Melayu)

PKR Candidate (wearing white formal suit with necktie)

Unlike the other 2 elections above, it is the most fierce contested seat. The 15-corner fight!
After the nominations, the contested candidate are Datuk S. Ganeson (BN), S. Manikumar (PKR) and another 13 Independent candidate.
Hussein Yaacob, T. Chandraajan, Mejar (Rtd) Anuar Abdul Hamid, Vincent Michael, Abdul Rahim Abu, S. Moganakumar, Mohd Fadzil Abdul Wahab, Radzi Md Lazim, Loganathan Ramanathan, Saralaloganathan, Tan Hock Huat, A. Jayagopal and Khamis Awang.

TRIVIA

Bukit Gantang located at Perak. Thus, the fight between BN and PAS possibly a fierced one. PR formed a government in Perak after the general elections, but BN once again govern the state after the PR government fall after 11 months.

Batang Ai located at Sarawak, thus the match here possibly the most contented in all 3. BN should have no problem here... (just my opinion..)

Bukit Selambau on the other hands... traditionally, BN reserved this seat to MIC. But the situation here is really akward. Malaysian records of 15-corner fight. May the best men wins..

CONCLUSION

Therefor, if I'm not mistaken.. about 20 candidate will participate in the elections. Muhyiddin Yassin has remembered all the voters that this elections were only a mere elections and not a poll to a specific political party.

All government are formed to served to the people. Thus, please make a wise choice and choose a candidate that actually can served to you...

Who will win? Lets wait and see... =)

Perak Crisis - The Sultan's Decision

In my previous post "Perak Crisis : Chronology", it is stated that both party's leader, BN and PR has comes before the HM Sultan of Perak to ask with their respective request, form a government and dissolve the state assembly and hold another elections. Both sides has officially stated that they will accept any of the Sultan's decisions.

After HM Sultan of Perak has make a decision that preferred the BN, most of the Perakians unable to accept the decision's and it has caused a huge uproar to the states. I has surfing throughout the internet for about 2 days and found out various comment. From accepting the Sultan's decision up to disagreed with the Sultan up to the extend said it they doesn't need the Sultan anymore.

Obviously, the one who stated that is a Malay. And like a statement from Tun Dr. Mahathir, "Melayu Mudah Lupa", "Melayu easily forget".

The flag you see at the top of the post is the Flag and coat of arm of Perak. What does it means?

3 stripes at the flag;

i) White represents HM Sultan of Perak

ii) Yellow represents HRH Raja Muda of Perak (Crown Prince)

iii) Black represents HRH Raja di Hilir of Perak

With all of those stripes represents the royal family, and you said that you doesn't need the Sultan anymore? Absurd I would say.

Personally, I also disagree with the Sultan decisions. Due to the fact that the perakians has clearly voted for PR in the last general elections. Thus, the PR government is the legal government. The BN that gets their supports from crossover assemblymens logically means that the new government is unconstitutional and unethical.

Yes, most of us said the Royal Family is injustice. But, please head my advice gentlemen, HM Sultan Azlan Shah has shown a good example for us, the citizens. He actually hears both sides, PR and BN. We can said that the Sultan is one sided if he only hears one side, but he actually sees and hears all sides, Najib, Nizar and all the assemblymens. Thus, his decisions is unquestionable. It is only the politicians who usually sparks a tention to the community.

Circumtances

The situation in Perak now is worst than ever. With the Ir Nizar refuse to step down and HM Sultan Azlan Shah has choose the new MB, Datuk Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir, Perak now comes to an era with 2 Menteri Besar.

Obviously, the PR has stated to defend the PR government in any means necessary and objected the new government. As an observer, what can I see is the situation now is almost the same as the situation in Perlis and Terengganu a year ago.

Perlis and Terengganu

BN has won in Perlis and form a government. The Prime Minister has said that Datuk Shahidan Kassim as the Menteri Besar, but the Raja of Perlis does not consent him to be the Menteri Besar due to the fact that the assemblymen prefer Mat Sabu.

BN also has won in Terengganu and form a government. The Prime Minister has choose Datuk Idris Jusoh to be the Menteri Besar. But, the famous Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin has choose Ahmad Said as the new Menteri Besar even all assemblymen still prefer Idris Jusoh.

And the rest is history. A commotion breakout and BN has stated that the Sultan who is also King of Malaysia is unconstitutional. The PR consist of Pas-DAP-PKR were gladly to see this as the new election probably be held if the assemblymens still refuses to accept the Sultan decisions.

But what happens now? PR too angry with the Sultan up to extend wanted to sue Sultan in high court. What a story... you should know that the majority support not always a good one.

Paradigm Shift

To all Malaysians, and specifically to PR.. please accept this situation with an open heart. Why? Because you already see that most citizens hold their support for you. PR has already to tired after a fierce battle in the past general elections, so take this chance to rest. Not to give up, but building up energy to give an outstanding victory in 13th general elections 4 years from now.

Most chilvarious and wise General after winning the war will retreat from the battlefield. Why? So that they can march more further up into the enemy terretory. So, what I can see is the Sultan is actually helping you. Please cease-firing for now, the lost here is maybe the key to many victory.

And to BN, please be aware that you may win todays battle but maybe suffered a major defeat in the future. If you still believes that your government is the government for all... please prove it to all the citizens, bring back the peace and gain the peoples confident back.

Sultan Azlan Shah

What has happened to Sultan Azlan Shah triggered my memories to the documentary movies that I watch. " The Queen". It is a story about Elizabeth II, Queen of United Kingdom and 16 Commonwealth Realm. Elizebeth II also angered her subjects when the royal family only keep quite of the death of Lady Diana, Princess of Wales.

Even though she is not part of the royal family, her status as mother to Prince William and Prince Harry make her more popular than others member of the royal family. Most of the peoples are furious why the Queen does not take part in the time of National Grief to the extend 1 out 4 has said wanted to abolished the monarchy.

But as the time goes by.. the people's angered finally eased.

Even though i am a Johoreans, I support the sultan decions, well face the fact that he is just a normal human being that are bound to makes mistakes... Sometimes, I do think that it is best to film this crisis just like 'The Queen'. To see the fact that whatever the Sultan do.. nobody will satisfied!

In fact, it is a huge mistakes to done something just to satiesfied everyone.. not all will satisfied..

Perak Crisis - Chronology

Today, all Malaysians see the downfall of the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) government in Perak. The government led by Dato Seri Ir Nizar Jamaludin only able to serve for about 11 months. Hold 31 state assembly seat during the 12th General Elections, Pas, PKR and DAP form a simple majority to led the Perak Government. BN only hold 28 and thus lost Perak for the first time.

This is the unique factor in Malaysians politics. The holder of the state assembly or parlimentary seats for each respective party have the possibility to 'change sides'. The same factor was the cause of the downfall of PR government in Perak after 3 of their seats holder resigned from PR. Even currently serve as Independence candidate, they have already gave their support to BN. And this is not the first time it is ever happens.

List of downfall state due to crossover assembly member;
1959 - downfall of Pas government in Terengganu. 2 party members switch sides to BN
1994 - downfall of PBS government in Sabah. Also to BN.
2009 - downfall of PR government in Perak. Also to BN.

10th Menteri Besar of Perak, Dato Seri Ir Nizar Jamaludin

The downfall of PR in Perak has unofficially state as 'coup' by the PR. They also has send a partition so that the new elections be held. The Monarchy however did not consent to held a new elections.
With the current political system in Malaysia, I do think that elections can only be held in every 5 years no matter what the circumstances.

Chronicle of Perak Crisis

Here are the chronology of what happens in Perak;

1. ADUN Bota (BN), Datuk Nasarudin Hashim crossover to PR
2. Former Perak Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Tajol Rosli Ghazali resigned as Perak UMNO chief.
3. Deputy Prime Minister, Najib resumed the role as Perak UMNO Chief
4. 3 PR ADUN are nowhere to be found. All communication attemp failed to locate them
5. Serious newsflash, 3 PR ADUN announce resignation as PR ADUN. All of them becomes independence ADUN.
   Mohd Osman Mohd Jailu (PKR), Hee Yit Foong (DAP), Jamaluddin Mohd Radzi (PKR)
6. Najib announce that they has enough majority to form a state government. 28-3-28.
   Datuk Nasarudin Hashim rejoined UMNO.
7. Najib ask consent from HM Sultan of Perak to form a new government of Perak
8. PR Chief Minister ask consent from HM Sultan of Perak to dissolve the state assembly and hold a new election
9. HM Sultan of Perak announce his consent to a new perak government and ask Ir Nizar to resign.
