Assalamulaikum and Peace be upon all of you.
Welcome to my blog.
The 25th Laos Sea Games 2009 has finally comes to an end. This is the first time where Laos has ever hosted an international event and the countries cultures, hospitality and warm welcome has been accepted by all participants. The biannual SEA Games traditionally hosted by rotation system and Laos usually are exceptions due to the countries socio-economy. But in 2003, Vietnam nominated Laos to host the game and Lao gladly accept.
Thailand emerges as the over-all champion in this year game as the country gain 86 gold medal. Vietnam in the second place after gains 83 gold and Indonesia is in the third with 43 gold. It is a shocking truth that the Vietnam capability in sports has increased over the years.
For the Malaysian Team, Congratulation, well done and thanks for all your hard work. Gaining 40 gold medals has placed the country in the fourth place not to mention able to over achieve the medal target of only 35 gold.
Congratulations especially to Daniel Bego who bagged 3 gold and 2 bronze medals for the country in swimming, and not forget to the most meaningful gold medal from our football team. After 20 years, Malaysia finally able to get the football's gold again. The taste for victory is indeed sweet. We are finally able to defeat the football giant in the region, Thailand and Vietnam.
After the closing ceremony, the host for 26th SEA Games in 2011 is supposedly Singapore, but Singapore suspends the hosting to 2013 and their placed is taken by Indonesia. The Games will be held in various placed around Sumatera.

Assalamualaikum and Peace be upon all of you.

This is a first time in Indonesia after constitutional amendment where the President is elect to take offices for second term. President Susilo takes offices with new vice-president elect Boediyono. It is expected that Susilo will announce his new cabinet tomorrow. In the Presidential election, Susilo gains enough support to win the election in the first round, defeat the other 2 candidate, Megawati and Jusof Kalla.
Indonesia taking a new era during Susilo administration after experienced economic growth and political stability. Indonesia has the most Muslim population in the world and currently includes in the G-20. It is undeniable that Indonesia has rise into a new era. As the channel newsasia refer it as;
COMMENT
As I always love history subjects and politics, it is an event I’ve been waiting for. Even though in South East Asia there are 7 democratic countries, only Indonesia and The Philippines has a President as both Head of State and Head of Government, or the system is called as ‘Full Presidential Republic’ with ‘Direct Democracy’. The only differs with this two nation is, Indonesia with 5 years term while Philippines with 6 years term. Indonesian President can hold the position for maximum 2 terms (10 years), while Philippines President cannot be re-elected.
The other country, Cambodia, Thailand and Malaysia is constitutional monarchy with Parliamentary Democracy. Singapore and Timor Leste adapt constitutional Republic with Parliamentary Democracy. Their system is differs where the Head of State and Head of Government is hold by two different person.

Singapore Independence Day

Assalamualaikum and Peace be upon all of you.
Welcome to my blog.
6.40pm in 9 August 2009, mark the 44th years of Singapore's Independence. The National Day Parade 2009 takes place at Marina Bay and most of the country VIP is presence including President of Singapore, S.R Nathan, Lee Kuan Yew, Goh Chok Tong and Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.
After 44 years, Singapore emerges as the most developed country in South East Asia. But it is not build in a single night. Everyone knows that Singapore once is part of Malaysia, and separations of both sides are the best way for survival for each nation. Both country shares much in common and needed one another. But, there still unsolved issues of both sides. New bridge to replace the old causeway, raw water supplied, and airspace are among the unsolved issue that still bring nightmare for both sides.
Thus, lead to some questions for both sides alike. Should the separations take place?
POLITICAL SURVIVAL
2 years in Malaysia, Malaysians look upon a serious conflict between both Premier at that time, Tunku Abdul Rahman and Lee Kuan Yew. Tunku Abdul Rahman who led the Alliance still in favour of the constitutions when Malaya gain independence while Lee Kuan Yew in favour of Malaysian Malaysia. This actually led to a racial conflict and it is getting worse when PAP participate in the Parliment General Elections eventhough its has clear in the agreement that he should not. The crisis led to a separation of both sides in 1965.
What would happen if the separation did not takes place?
It is possibly led to arrest of some political leaders at that time and could possibly ignite more tearful racial riots.
Thus, in 9 August 1965, a special sessions of Malaysia Parliament took place to discuss about this issues. Both Lee Kuan Yew and Tunku Abdul Rahman neck to neck fighting for their cause until one bill has been announced by Tunku Abdul Rahman to separated Singapore from the Federation, while the same bill is announced by Lee Kuan Yew to maintained Singapore in the Federation. The outcome is 126 MP at that time agreed without objections to separate Singapore from the Federation and thus Singapore became a new independence nation.
MERGER?
If the two sides could not work together, why merges in the first place?
In 1961, the idea of mergence Singapore in Malaysia is bring up by Lee Kuan Yew. It is due to the fact that Communist Party has gain a support in Singapore and it is likely that Singapore could become a new communist country in the region. Malaya has been fighting with the communist for years and this can prove to be fatal. Singapore joining the Federation is the only solutions for the communist problem.
Of course, it is led to another problem, Racial Imbalance. But, the problem is solved when Sabah and Sarawak agree to join the federation as well.
BRIGHT SIDES
I have went to singapore to visits my relatives a few years ago. And in that time, I wonder, is the Singapore will totally differs if the separations did not takes place?
The answer is, Of Course. Not only to the facility of both sides, but also to me as well. Rather in Johor, I would possibly been born and raised in Singapore. My grandfather stays in Singapore before the separations. He has told me once that he actually had walking from Seletar to Yinchu and Sembawang in that time.
Even there is much negative impact. There is also a bright side. Rather than communist nations, Singapore emerges as a democratic country. While racial harmony can be attain in Malaysia.
The relations of both nations now take a new step ahead under a new leadership of Dato Seri Najib Razak and Lee Hsien Loong. Rather than fighting each other, it is best for us as new generations to improve this relation.
Here is Singapore NDP 2009 Theme Song.
Enjoy.
