Sultan feels offended

His Royal Highness the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar feels offended with the statement made by Chief Minister of Pulau Pinang, Lim Guan Eng stating that Johor is not safe for investment, unlike Pulau Pinang. Nevertheless, as the Sultan of Johor, His Royal Highness does not want to interfere in political affairs.

The Sultan also does not want any parties to speak on his behalf that he always takes care of Johorean and foreigners living in the state. His Royal Highness made a statement after a controversial press conference made by Lim Guan Eng, belittle the State of Johor in his interview with foreign media in Singapore.


Johorean Reactions

In the meantime, most Johorean are against the statement made by Lim Guan Eng. Around 200,000 members of Johor Non-Government Organization (NGO) wants an action to be taken against the Penangite Chief Minister for belittling Johor outside the country. There also several persons who against Lim such as the President of Pertubuhan Penyatuan Pembelaan Melayu Malaysia (PPPMM), A. Rahman Mahadi in his statement said, Lim Guan Eng should not steps a foot ever again to the Johorean soil if he think that the State is dangerous to visit.

In the meantime, the Johorean-born Penangite Chief Minister, Lim Guan Eng replied with infamous answer when been questioned about his action, he did not remember what he have said.

HM Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin accompanied the President of Vietnam, Truong Tan Sang in the ceremony at Parliament Square.

His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin and Her Majesty the Raja Permaisuri Agong consent to greet the arrival of the President of Vietnam, Truong Tan Sang on his official 3-day visit to Malaysia. The welcoming ceremony was held at Parliament Square, Kuala Lumpur. Also present at the ceremony were Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Mohd Najib bin Tun Abd Razak and wife, Datin Sri Rosmah Mansur.

President of Vietnam, Truong Tan Sang inspecting the Guard-of-Honour mounted by the Royal Malay Regiment

The President of Vietnam were accompanied by his wife, Mai Thi Hanh; Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister, Nguyen Thien Nahn and several cabinet ministers and senior officials. The visits is on the invitation by HM Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin.

Later, HM Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin consent to made a courtesy visit to the President of Vietnam and wife at Sheraton Imperial Hotel, a place where both of them staying in the country. Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin accompanied by Tuanku Nur Zahirah arrived at 5.40 pm and then have a meeting for 45 minutes. The visit was to reciprocate the visit by Tuanku Mizan and Tuanku Nur Zahirah to Vietnam in 2009 aimed at, among others, boosting bilateral relations between the two countries.

His Royal Highness the Sultan of Selangor is expected to make a statement in two or three days to give his opinion and advice in order to solve the Damansara Utama Methodist Church (DUMC) case, where in the past August 3, 2011, the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) has made an inspection to the premise. The Menteri Besar of Selangor, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid bin Ibrahim in his statement said, the State Government will abide with any advices and solutions suggest by His Royal Highness, and the State Government will not issued any statement regarding the matter before the Royal Statement been issued by the Sultan.

Selangor State Islamic Affairs Exco, Datuk Dr Hassan bin Mohd Ali has defend the action taken by JAIS as with earlier investigation showed that the parties involved can be charged under Section 10, Selangor Crime Enactment 1995 and there exist proves that the propagation activities to spread Non-Muslim religion to the Muslims taking place in the building.

Director of JAIS, Marzuki bin Hussin on last September 15, confirm that the case will be mention at Shah Alam Syariah Court on October 19, but there are no details of whether there will be prosecution of those involved in the inspection or otherwise.

Thus, the State Government believes that the decision regarding the case will be the best for the multi-racial and multi-religious community in the State, and at the same time preserving the sanctity of Islam.

His Royal Highness the Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz ibni Almarhum Tuanku Munawir consent to witness the handing over of certificates ceremony for establishment of As-Sofa University College. The certificate was delivered by Minister of Higher Education, Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled bin Nordin to the Chairman of Gerbang As-Sofa Sdn Bhd, Syeikh Muhammad Fuad Kamaluddin Al-Maliki.

Also present at the ceremony was Menteri Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Datuk Seri Mohamad Hassan.

HM Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin bestowed an honorary award of Panglima Jasa Negara which carries the title 'Datuk' to Datuk Zalekha Hassan

His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (Supreme Ruler) of Malaysia, Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin consent to bestowed an honorary titles and awards to 264 recipients in the ceremony held at Istana Melawati. The ceremony is in conjunction of the Birthday Celebration last June.

In the ceremony, six people received the Panglima Jasa Negara which carries the title 'Datuk'. Five people received the Johan Mangku Negara award. Seven received the Johan Setia Mahkota, one received the Johan Setia Diraja, 69 received the Kesatria Mangku Negara and six received the Kesatria Setia Diraja. 79 received the Ahli Mangku Negara and 91 people received the Pingat Pangkuan Negara.

HM Tuanku Nur Zahirah delivered a duit raya and present to Azri Yusairi, from Selangor Spastic Children Association

Her Majesty the Raja Permaisuri Agong (Supreme Queen) of Malaysia, Tuanku Nur Zahirah consent to attend the 'Majlis Riang Ria bersama Permaisuri Agong', Riang Ria with the Queen ceremony organized by Majlis Kebajikan Kanak-Kanak Malaysia (MKKK), Malaysian Children Welfare Council at Kelab Darul Ehsan. In the ceremony, HM Tuanku Nur Zahirah delivered the duit raya and presents to the children.

The ceremony was a sponsored with a collaboration of Berjaya Group sending an invitations to 14 schools and children welfare institution to celebrate the ceremony.

His Excellency the Yang Dipertua Negeri (Head of State) of Sarawak, Tun Abang Muhammad Salahuddin bin Abang Barieng consent to pay a last respect to Allahyarhamah Puan Sri Halimah binti Abdullah who died at the age of 82. She is the wife of former Sarawak Commissioner of Police, Tan Sri Hamdan Sirat. Also present to pay their last respect were the wife of the Head of State, Toh Puan Norkiah, the Chief Minister of Sarawak, Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and wife and Sarawak Police Commissioner, Datuk Mortadza Nazarene.

A son of the late Halimah, Capt Zainuddin Hamdan, said his mother passed away at 10.25 am, 26 September 2011 at the Normah Medical Specialist Center due to lung infection. Her body was laid to rest at the Semariang Muslim Cemetery.

His Excellency the Yang Dipertua Negeri (Head of State) of Sarawak, Tun Abang Muhammad Salahuddin bin Abang Barieng consent to officiate the foundation stone laying ceremony of Sarawak Children Cancer Association Headquarter building at Taman Desa Wira, Batu Kawa. The Head of State planted the Durian Tree in commemorate the ceremony.

Also attended the ceremony were his wife, Toh Puan Norkiah; Sarawak State Minister of Social Development and Urbanization, Datuk Seri William Mawan Ikom and President of Children Cancer Association, Gary Ho Khoon Beng.

HM Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin officiate the first edition of the congress convention.

His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (Supreme Ruler) of Malaysia, Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin consent to officiate the first Pan-Malaysian States Islamic Congress held at Putra World Trade Center (PWTC), Kuala Lumpur. It is the first time this such event were held organized by Jabatan Agama Islam Malaysia (JAKIM), Malaysia Islamic Religious Department. The two-day event took 'Pemacu Transformasi Ummah', The drives of Ummah Transformation as its theme.

The Congress intends to discuss a strategic and role of States Islamic Religious Council for the development of ummah, as well as to be a platform of interactions and smart partnerships among the States Islamic Religious Council. For the matter, the idea has been brought to the 224th Meeting of Conference of Rulers on 14th June 2011, which the idea received a royal assent to proceed .

The idea of the congress was originally pointed out by Tan Sri Dr. Mohd Yusof bin Md Nor, the Chairman of LEPAI. The idea was first pointed out in the 36th Meeting of LEPAI on 3rd May 2010. He wants a convention to be held so that the function and role of all States Islamic Religious Council can be review and enhanced to further contribute to the development of ummah along with the flow of times. It can also be a platform to answer all questions regarding the arise current issues especially with the role of State Islamic Religious Council in term of education, economy and legislative fields.

Dinner and Lectures

His Royal Highness the Raja Muda (Crown Prince) of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail consent to attend the dinner and inaugural lectures ceremony held at Banquet Hall, Petaling Jaya Municipal Council. Also accompanied the Prince was the Chairman of Malaysian Al-Nidaa', Shofwan Badrie bin Ahmad Badrie.

The ceremony was held to collect fund for development of Sekolah Menengah Tahfiz Al-Amin Chenderong Balai at Teluk Intan, Perak. The school is expected to operate in January 2012.

An attempt of self-proclaimed descendant of Perak Royal Family, Raja Ahmad Nasir to enter the Iskandariah Palace in his attempt to claim the throne ended up in failure as the palace was well-guarded by the local authority. Raja Ahmad Nasir were accompanied by his wife, children and supporters try to enter the official palace of Perak Royalty around 10.00 am. Later, Raja Ahmad Nasir left the palace using a van with a registration number of ABY 423.

Raja Ahmad Nasir claiming himself as a descendant to Raja Kulop Muhammad who is the eldest son of Sultan Idris Murshidul 'azam Shah Marhum Rahmatullah, the 28th Sultan of Perak who ruled Perak around 1887 - 1916.

1Malaysia Horse Show

His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (Supreme Ruler) of Malaysia, Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin consent to officiate the 1Malaysia Horse Show 2011 at Equestrian and STC Sport Center at Sungai Besi. His Majesty was accompanied by Her Majesty the Raja Permaisuri Agong (Supreme Queen Consort), Tuanku Nur Zahirah. Their Majesties arrival at the club was greeted by Tan Sri Richard Cham, the Chairman of the club.

Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin witness a horse related performance in the event such as horse achery, gymnastic, extreme acrobatic, equine expo and Equestrian Mini Prix Challenge. The Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin also consent to deliver prizes to the winner of 80KM endurance FEI1 Challenge which was held in last week. Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin also delivered a contribution of RM25,000 to five welfare associations which was contributed by the winner of 20 KM Charity Endurance Challenge which was held in the morning.

The three-day event for this year is the 17th edition of the carnival since 1994 and it is expected to attracted around 20,000 visitors.

His Excellency the Yang Dipertua Negeri (Head of State) of Sarawak, Tun Abang Muhammad Salahuddin bin Abang Barieng celebrated his 90th Birthday Celebration. Almost 1,500 participants taking part in the celebration performance held at Padang Merdeka, which consist of primary and secondary school students, university students and members of associations and non-government organizations.

In the ceremony, the Yang Dipertua Negeri consent to inspect the Guar-of-Honour mounted by the Malay Royal Regiment. Later, the Yang Dipertua Negeri witness the celebration parades and take salutations from the 13th Malay Royal Regiments. Also present at the celebration parades were Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and Deputy Chief Minister, Tan Sri Alfred Jabu.

In conjunction of the birthday celebration, 909 recipients received a state medal and honorary titles from the Yang Dipertua Negeri. The first in the list was the Speaker of Sarawak State Assebly Seating, Datuk Seri Mohamad Asfia bin Awang Nassar which received the Bintang Kenyalang Sarawak which carries the title of 'Datuk Amar'. Also in the list was Temenggong Kanang anak Langkau who received the Panglima Gemilang Bintang Kenyalang which carries the title 'Datuk'.

HRH Tunku Putri Intan Shafinaz of Kedah

His Royal Highness the Tunku Panglima Besar of Kedah, Datuk Seri Tunku Intan Shafinaz binti Sultan Abd Halim Muadzam Shah was proclaimed as the Pro-Chancellor of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), thus becoming the university first woman to be appointed as a Pro-Chancellor of UKM. The proclamation was made by the Chancellor of UKM, HRH Tuanku Muhriz ibni Almarhum Tuanku Munawir of Negeri Sembilan in conjunction of UKM's 39th Convocation Ceremony.

In the convocation ceremony that will last until 27 September 2011, 8,430 graduates received their degrees consisted of 286 recepients of PhD, Medical Specialist Master degrees (173), Master degrees (2,034), Bachelor degrees (5,688), Diploma Siswazah (158) and Diploma (73).

His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (the Supreme Ruler) of Malaysia, Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin and Her Majesty the Raja Permaisuri Agong (the Supreme Queen) of Malaysia, Tuanku Nur Zahirah ended the three-day official visit to Selangor and bid farewell to the state. Their Majesties consent to attend the farewell ceremony held at Dataran Dewan Negeri Selangor, Bangunan Sultan Abd Aziz Shah around 9.15 am.

The arrival of Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin and Tuanku Nur Zahirah were greeted by His Royal Highness the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah and Menteri Besar of Selangor, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim. Also present was the Agriculture and Agro Based Industry Minister, Datuk Seri Noh Omar. Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin received a royal salute before the national anthem and Selangor State Anthem were played by the Royal Malay Regiment Central Brass Band from Sungai Besi Camp, followed by a 21-gun salute.

Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin then inspected a Guard-of-Honour mounted by the First Battalion of the Royal Malay Regiment, Sungai Besi Camp. This was followed by the Doa recitation by the Mufti of Selangor, Datuk Mohd Tamyes Abdul Wahid before the two anthem were replayed. Hundreds of residents lined the street waving the Malaysian and Selangorean flags to bid farewell to the Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin and Tuanku Nur Zahirah when they departed at about 9.30 am.

His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (the Supreme Ruler) of Malaysia, Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin and Her Majesty the Raja Permaisuri Agong (the Supreme Queen) of Malaysia, Tuanku Nur Zahirah consent to attend the Majlis Mesra Rakyat at Morib Beach Square in conjunction of Their Majesties official three-day visit to Selangor. The couple arrival was greeted by Menteri Besar, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim and State Secretary, Datuk Mohammed Khusrin Munawi.

Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin and Tuanku Nur Zahirah was entertained by a traditional welcoming dance, Tarian Selamat Datang by group of dancer from Perbadanan Adat Melayu dan Warisan of Selangor. There are also several other dance in the small greeting ceremony like, Bugis, Chinese, Indian and Aboriginal tribes dances. Later, Their Majesties spending times to visit booths at the beach before departed to Istana Pantai Bahagia around 11.45 am.

5,000 people attending the ceremony to witness the arrival of Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin and Tuanku Nur Zahirah even in the rain. Also attended the ceremony was Agriculture Minister, Datuk Seri Noh Omar.

Royal visit to Selangor

His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (the Supreme Ruler) of Malaysia, Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin and Her Majesty the Raja Permaisuri Agong, Tuanku Nur Zahirah began a three-day official visit to Selangor starting on Wednesday. The royal couple were greeted on arrival at Padang Mahkota, Istana Alam Shah here by His Royal Highness the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah and Menteri Besar (Chief Minister), Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.

Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin later inspecting the Guard-of-Honour before "Negaraku" and the state anthem were played by the Royal Malay Regiment's brass band from Sungai Besi Camp led by Major Zailani Mohd Okhtat. Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin and Tuanku Nur Zahirah then headed for the royal mosque and the royal car gallery at Istana Alam Shah.

After a brief visit at Istana Alam Shah, Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin and Tuanku Nur Zahirah visits the Royal Gallery of Sultan Abdul Aziz and Istana Bukit Kayangan, Shah Alam before returned back to Istana Alam Shah to attend the State Banquet.

His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (the Supreme Ruler) of Malaysia, Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin consent to visit the WQ Park Health and Rehabilitation Center in Kelana Jaya, Selangor. The arrival of Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin was greeted by WQ Park's Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Dr. Zulkharnain Ismail. WQ Park is a specialized health and rehabilitation center providing comprehensive treatment to patients of all ages from children to adults to improve the quality of life, especially the physically challenged.

Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin spent about an hour visiting the facilities at the centre such as hydrotherapy pool, room for learning programmes, speech therapy room and physiotherapy test kits.

His Excellency the Yang Dipertua Negeri (Head of State) of Sarawak, Tun Abang Muhammad Salahuddin bin Abang Barieng consent to make a visit and mingle with the public at Lachau Market in Kuching, Sarawak. The Head of State will celebrate his 90th birthday this year is the third and sixth Yang Dipertua Negeri of Sarawak. He is the first person to be appointed twice as the Yang Dipertua Negeri in Malaysia.

Also attending the ceremony were Defense Minister, Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Commander of the Armed Forces, General Tan Sri Zulkifeli Mohd Zin.

Tun Abdullah bin Ahmad Badawi received an honorary degree of PhD in Entrepreneurship from HRH Tengku Dr. Muhammad Fa-iz Petra

His Royal Highness the Tengku Mahkota (Crown Prince) of Kelantan, Tengku Dr. Muhammad Fa-iz Petra ibni Sultan Ismail Petra consent to attend the first convocation ceremony of Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK). In conjunction of the event, His Royal Highness the Sultan of Kelantan, Sultan Muhammad V was proclaimed as the Chancellor of UMK, replacing his father and the Tengku Mahkota was proclaimed as the Pro-Chancellor of UMK. The proclamation was made by the Minister of Higher Education, Datuk Seri Mohamed Khalid Nordin at Grand Riverview Hotel.

269 graduates received their degree in bachelor and 3 received their Master in the ceremony. The graduation certificates was delivered by the Crown Prince. Also attended the ceremony were Menteri Besar (Chief Minister) of Kelantan, Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat; Former Prime Minister, Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi; Vice-Chancellor of UMK, Prof Emeritus Datuk Ir Dr Zainai Mohamad, and Chairman of UMK Board of Director, Tan Sri Hamad Kama Piah.

In the ceremony, Tun Abdullah was bestowed a PhD in Entrepreneurship (Human Capital Development) in honour of his service during his Prime Minister-ship and a role he played during the foundation of UMK.

His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (the Supreme Ruler) of Malaysia, Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin consent to officiate the inauguration ceremony of Tangjung Vista Hotel at Kuala Terengganu. Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin, accompanied by Her Majesty the Raja Permaisuri Agong (the Supreme Queen) of Malaysia, Tuanku Nur Zahirah was greeted by the State Secretary, Datuk Mazlan Ngah and the Chairman and Managing Director of the hotel, Datuk Tan Choo Meng.

The three star hotel comprising 14 floors with 199 rooms was built in 2008 at a cost of RM23 million. The hotel began operation on September 7 last year. The hotel equip with facilities like restaurant, business center, swimming pool and a gymnasium.

UniSZA Convocation Ceremony

His and Her Majesties the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (the Supreme Ruler) of Malaysia, Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin and the Raja Permaisuri Agong (the Supreme Queen) of Malaysia, Tuanku Nur Zahirah consent to attend the third convocation ceremony of Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA). HM Tuanku Nur Zahirah is the Chancellor of UniSZA. A total 1,168 graduates received their master's and bachelor's degrees and diplomas at the convocation. It consist of 464 graduates received their bachelor's degrees, 703 graduates received their diplomas and one received a masters' degree in science.

Also attended the ceremony were the Menteri Besar of Terengganu, Datuk Seri Ahmad Said and the Vice-Chancellor of UniSZA, Prof Datuk Dr Alias Daud.

Unimap Convocation Ceremony

His Royal Highness the Raja Muda (Crown Prince) of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail consent to attend the Convocation Ceremony of Universiti Malaysia Perlis (Unimap). The Raja Muda who is the Chancellor of Unimap was accompanied by Her Royal Highness the Raja Puan Muda (Crown Princess) of Perlis, Tuanku Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil, who is also the Pro-Chancellor of Unimap. The convocation ceremony were held at Dewan 2020 in three session where the Raja Muda delivered the degree certificate to 400 graduates.

This year session witnessed an increasing number of graduates from 1,100 graduates to 1,237 graduates. It's consist of 4 PhD graduates, 58 Master of Science graduates, 953 Engineering Degree graduates and 222 Engineering Diploma graduates. Also present at the ceremony was the Vice-Chancellor of Unimap, Prof Datuk Dr Kamarudin Hussin.

Bera Assemblyman's Open House

His Royal Highness the Sultan of Pahang, Sultan Ahmad Shah consent to attend the Eid-Fitri Open House of Bera Assemblyman Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob who is also the Home Minister, Cooperation and Consumerism held at Kerayong Square. Almost 35,000 people attended the event which serve various traditional and modern delicacy such as ketupat, lemang, rendang, nasi dagang, cakes and many others.

In the event, the Sultan consent to deliver 'duit raya' contribution to Sang Riang Triang elderly Welfare House.

His Royal Highness the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar consent to attend the 1Malaysia Entourage Ceremony held at Putra World Trade Center. In the ceremony, the Sultan was accompanied by Minister of Defence, Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi received a replica check worth of RM100,000 from SYABAS who represented by Chief Executive Tan Sri Rozali Ismail.

The 1Malaysia Entourage will tour all around the nation in conjunction of National Day and Malaysia Day celebrations.

The National Day and Malaysia Day 2011 is the first ever celebration where the National Day and Malaysia Day are celebrated at the same time. The National was celebrated at Merdeka Square, Kuala Lumpur. Each states in Malaysia also celebrated it at the same day at each respective venue.


Kuching, Sarawak

Fireworks performance added the festivity atmosphere at the vicinity of Sarawak State Assembly Building which is also at the riverbank of Sarawak River. It is the first time the National Day and the Malaysia Day Celebration was celebrated at the same time in the whole nation.


Bandar Hilir, Melaka

The Malacca's State Level of National Day Parade 2011 was held at Bandar Hilir, Malacca. His Excellency the Yang Dipertua Negeri of Melaka, Tun Mohd Khalil Yaakop also present at the celebration. 117 contingents from various government and private sector taking part in the ceremony. 5,000 Malaccan witnessed the celebration.


Butterworth, Pulau Pinang

The Penang's State Level of National Day Parade 2011 was held at Jalan Bagan, Butterworth where 100 contingents from both government and private agencies taking part in the parade.


Alor Setar, Kedah

The Kedah's State Level of National Day 2011 was held at Dataran Tunku in front of Pekan Rabu, Alor Setar. His Royal Highness the Sultan of Kedah, Tuanku Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah and Her Royal Highness the Sultanah of Kedah, Tuanku Haminah Hamidun present at the ceremony.


Ipoh, Perak
